Reliance Jio announced that they are forging a cloud partnership with Google. This partnership will see Google providing tech solutions to Jio. This will assist Jio to launch 5G services in India. Google had already invested heavily in India’s biggest wireless carrier last year. This partnership will immensely boost the 5G plans of Jio in India.

This extended partnership will be helping digital services to small and medium businesses along with millions of individual customers. The two companies also came together to produce the JioPhone Next.
It’s a broad partnership, it involves multiple pieces of Alphabet working together. Our own partnership spans multiple parts of Jio not just the communications business… but also health, retail and other things. And it allows us to bring our technology to many consumers in India in a broad-scale basis as well as to many businesses that are served by Reliance. The terms of the cloud contract haven’t been shared by the company yet. Google had already invested about $4.5 billion (approx Rs. 33,370 crores) in Jio Platforms last year.
When launched, Google disrupted the country’s telecom market through its highly attractive data plans and free voice calls. This move saw other telecom companies also following the footsteps of Jio and launching similar plans. Today, Jio is the biggest mobile carrier in the country with over 422 million customers.
5G In India By Jio

Google joins the likes of Qualcomm and Intel to “pioneer the 5G revolution” in India in 2021. Jio is also in a 10-year partnership with Microsoft to build data centers across India.

The company is got the approval of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) last month. It then tested the same at its data center trial sites in Navi Mumbai.
