Airtel’s prepaid mobile plans have been completely revised. These new plans are set to take effect on November 26. Prepaid plans will see a minimum price increase of Rs. 20 and some plans will see a price increase of up to Rs. 501.
This price increase, according to Airtel, is implemented to allow for a reasonable return on capital and a financially viable business model. Airtel has previously stated that the average revenue per user (ARPU) should be around Rs. 200, with a target of Rs. 300.
After discontinuing some of its prepaid plans in June, now, Airtel has increased the price of its prepaid plans, which now start at Rs. 99 for a 28-day plan, a 25% increase. The company also discontinued Rs. 49 plan in July as well. This, however, is not included with SMS.
Now, If you need outgoing SMS, you’ll have to pay Rs. 179 instead of Rs. 149, a 20 percent increase. The Rs. 219 plan, which included similar benefits and 1GB of data per day, is now Rs. 265. The popular Rs. 598 plan, which includes 84 days of validity and 1.5GB of data per day, has been increased to Rs. 719.
Rs. 2999 Airtel Prepaid Plan
The most expensive Airtel prepaid plan, which was previously priced at Rs. 2,498 will now be priced at Rs. 2,999. It has a 365-day validity period and includes 2GB of data per day, 100 SMS messages per day, and unlimited calling.
