Airtel Discontinues Rs 45, Rs 179, and Rs 279 Prepaid Plans: List of Alternatives Plans

Airtel has recently discontinued its three prepaid recharge plans which cost Rs. 45, Rs. 179, and Rs. 279. Alongside discontinuing the three plans, Airtel has launched Rs. 128 smart recharge plan. Let’s discuss what are the alternatives to the Airtel prepaid plan that are discontinued.

Alternatives To Rs. 279 Airtel Prepaid Plan

Airtel discontinued Rs. 279 plan which offered 1.5GB daily data to users along with 100 SMS per day and unlimited calling. The plan had a validity of 28 days. The plan offered four-week courses on Shaw Academy, access to Wynk Music, and also Rs. 4 Lakh worth HDFC life insurance, alongside the data, SMS, and calls. Moreover, the plan also gave users access to premium content on Airtel Xstream.

The alternative to this plan would be Rs. 249 prepaid plan. The plan offers almost the same benefits as the Airtel Rs. 279 plan, except for the insurance. Moreover, it does offer Rs. 150 cashback on FASTag transactions, and users also get Amazon Prime Video mobile edition for one month with this plan.


Alternatives To Rs. 179 Airtel Prepaid Plan 

Airtel has also discontinued the Rs. 179 plan. The plan offered Rs. 2 Lakh worth Bharti AXA life insurance, along with 2GB mobile data, and 300 SMS. The plan had a validity of 28 days. The alternative to this one would be the annual plan which costs Rs. 2,498 for 12 months. Calculating on monthly basis, the plan will cost you Rs. 208 per month except you will have to pay annually for this one.

This plan gives 2GB of data per day, 100 SMS, and unlimited calling. Moreover, you also get the Amazon Prime Video mobile edition with this plan. The plan also gives users access to Wynk Music, Airtel Xstream Premium, and Rs. 150 cashback on FASTag transactions. The plan also brings free courses from Shaw Academy for 28 days. The other alternative would be Rs. 298 plan which will be charged monthly, and offers the same benefits as the Rs. 2,498 plan.


New Rs. 128 Airtel Prepaid Plan

Airtel discontinued Rs. 45 plan and introduced Rs. 128 plan alongside it. The plan does not offer any data or Talktime. After opting for the plan, the local and STD calling will cost you 2.5 paise per second, and every SMS will cost you Rs. 1 (Local) or Rs. 1.5 (STD). The validity of the plan will be 28 days.

You can also go for Rs. 49 plan alongside it, which will give you Talktime worth Rs. 38.52 and 100MB data. The plan will also have a validity of 28 days.
