Xiaomi has announced that the rollout for MIUI 12 the latest OS for Xiaomi and Mi devices will be starting in India by the end of this month. Xiaomi through a live stream revealed that the OS update will be starting in the country this month. Redmi Note 9 users have reported that they have already started receiving the update.

Xiaomi – Mi had released MIUI 12 back in May but it was launched only for China then. Xiaomi also had released a beta testing program in June for the users to try the latest OS before the official launch. The Beta Testing program was only for users using Mi 9, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro, Redmi K20, and the Redmi K20 Pro.
Devices To Recieve The Update
Xiaomi has announced it will be rolling out the update in stages and select devices at a time with the first batch of devices to receive the update are the Mi 10, Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 7, and Redmi Note 7 Pro will be receiving the update this month.
There is no exact timeline regarding the update to reach the users but the Chinese Smartphone giant have said they will be updating any information on their social media channels.
What’s New In MIUI 12?
The latest OS for Mi, Redmi, and Poco devices the MIUI 12 will be coming with many new features. In the unveiling of the OS, the company did announce the update will bring a revamped UI experience as they have reworked extensively on the system animations and visualizations. The MIUI 12 will also bring the App Drawer to sort apps by categories.
Xiaomi has also addressed the issues in Dark Mode and widened its coverage to the most system and third-party apps as well. The update will also introduce an Ultra-Battery saving mode which can be used to extend the battery life of the device considerably.
The MIUI 12 will also introduce Magic Clone feature which allows the users to create virtual doppelgangers images or even videos more interesting.
Amongst the devices that have already received the MIUI 12 Update in India include Poco X2 and Redmi Note 9.
