The limited edition smartphone is identical to the original Xolo One in terms of specifications, but in addition features the Liverpool FC’s iconic Liverbird printed on the ‘premium leather back’. Also bundled are an LFC-branded charger and back case, apart from an authenticity certificate. Users also get preloaded Liverpool wallpapers and an LFC boot animation.
Notably, the Liverpool FC Edition Xolo One runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box. In contrast, the Xolo One at launch last year ran Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and was priced at Rs. 6,599 and pegged as an Android One smartphone alternative. By January however, the company had started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the smartphone.
The Liverpool FC Edition Xolo One features dual-SIM support, and a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 218ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582M) processor alongside Mali 400 MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It bears 8GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). The LFC Xolo One sports a 5-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera with LED flash, and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, and 3G. It packs a 1700mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 377 hours of standby time on 3G network.
The domestic brand is the official mobile handset partner of Liverpool FC in India, and tied up with the English Premier League football club in 2014 starting off with the ‘Mission Million’ campaign.
