Qualcomm has finally announced Snapdragon 888 Plus which is a slight upgrade over the last year’s Snapdragon 888 processor. The processor has increased the Qualcomm Kryo 680 CPU Prime core clock speed up to 3.0Ghz.
Moreover, the Snapdragon 888 Plus is equipped with 32 Tera Operations per second AI performance. Qualcomm claims it to be more than 20 percent improvement when compared with the Snapdragon 888 chipset.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 plus and Snapdragon 888 are quite the same chipset. The difference comes in the clock speed and the TOPS (Terabyte operations per second) offered by both the processors. Snapdragon 888 plus comes with Kryo 680 core with frequency boosted up to 2.995GHz. It has a sixth-gen Qualcomm Hexagon 780 AI processor which delivers 32 TOPS while the Snapdragon 888 offers 26 TOPS.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus comes with Snapdragon X60 5G Modem which has 7.5Gbps top DL speed and Adreno 666 GPU. Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 enables fast-speed download.

Snapdragon 888 Plus has Spectra 580 ISP which allows triple concurrent capture along with parallel processing up to 2.7 gigapixels per second. The process is also capable of capturing three 28MP photos or record three 4K HDR videos at once. It is also capable of capturing a 120fps burst shot at 12MP.
It offers AI-based auto-exposure and auto-capture. The processor offers a new low-light architecture, which helps in capturing brighter photos even when capturing photos in a new darkness. Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus also offers 10-bit color depth in HEIF format which can capture vivid colors.
The process also has Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, including variable-rate shading to enable faster graphic performance. The processor also increases the display responsiveness with Qualcomm Game Quick Touch.
The process also has the support for Quick Charge 5, which as per company claims can completely charge a phone in 15 minutes or less than that. Moreover, it has connectivity options including Wi-Fi 5E, Bluetooth v5.2, NFS, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, NavIC, Galileo, QZSS, and SBAS. Alongside, the chipset also supports a QHD+ display at 144Hz or a 4K display at a 60Hz refresh rate. It also has the support for HDR and HDR10+.
We expect to see the smartphones with Snapdragon 888 Plus in the third quarter of 2021. The chipset will power flagship phones.
