Samsung is all set to launch the next series of Samsung Galaxy Watch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Active 4. Tech journalist Nils Ahrensmeier predicts that both the watches are arriving soon in India, and also disclosed the sizes that might be available in India. Seemingly, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 will arrive in 42mm and 46mm sizes, while the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 will be available in 40mm and 42mm sizes.
As the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 was one of the best-selling smartwatches in 2020, Samsung is keen to launch its successor, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. The rumored specifications and designs of the smartwatch are gathering interest among wearable lovers.
Samsung usually launches its smartwatch series in August along with the Note series. However, there is no news about the launch of the new Note 21 series. While the company may still launch the Watch 4 series alongside the next-generation foldable devices Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3.
Tipster Ice Universe thinks that Samsung may postpone the launch of the Watch 4 series to Q2 2021. As the Galaxy 21 series was launched much earlier this year, it is believed that Galaxy Watch 4 series will arrive as early as possible.

Design and Comparison with Previous models
As per the resources, the Galaxy Watch 4 is expected to have the same design as its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 3 which suggests that there will be no major changes in the design of the new smartwatch. Unlike the Galaxy Watch Active 2, there are chances that the Galaxy Watch 4 Series might feature a circular design and rotating bezel.
The leaks give clear information about the sizes, the Galaxy Watch 4 may feature in the sizes 42mm and 46mm with the model name SM-R880 and SM-R890 respectively. If the leak happens to be true, the Galaxy Watch 4 would be much bigger than last year’s 45mm model.
Expected Specifications and Overview
The Galaxy Watch 4 Series is expected to feature a Super AMOLED display, dual-core Exynos 9110 CPU processor along with Mali-T720 GPU, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. The watch will be made available in both LTE and Wi-Fi variants.
The Watch 4 Series can monitor SpO2 (blood oxygen level), blood pressure, and Trip Detection, which grants users an option to send a custom alert message to emergency contacts. It also features Bixby Voice assistance and gesture controls.
The Smartwatch Series will be having an IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. The connectivity options of the watch include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, NFC, Glonass, and Beidou. It may sport a 340mAh battery which is expected to last up to 60 hours on daily usage.
Regarding the improvements in health tracking, Samsung hinted in January to include blood glucose monitoring in an upcoming smartwatch. This feature would certainly add more value to Samsung’s renowned health sensor arsenal. There are talks that Samsung may switch from its own Tizen OS to Google’s Wear OS for Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Series.
