ZTE has launched ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G and ZTE Axon 30 Pro 5G smartphones in China. The two smartphones are the flagship offering from the company. The phones are powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC. It also has a 64-Megapixel camera sensor in place. In terms of display, the phones have 6.67-inch AMOLED displays having a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G Specifications And Features
The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) curved AMOLED display. The display has a refresh rate of 144Hz with a special feature to automatically adjust between 120HZ, 90Hz, and 60Hz. Apart from this, the display also has an aspect ratio of 20:9, a touch sampling rate of 300Hz, and supports HDR 10+. The screen also comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The phone runs on the Android 11 based MyOS 11. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with the Adreno 660 GPU. It also has up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1 TB UFS 3.1 onboard storage.
In terms of cameras, the phone comes with a Quad Camera setup on the back. The primary sensor is a 64-Megapixel lens having an aperture of f/1.9. There are two more cameras with a 64-Megapixel sensor including a Wide camera lens with an aperture of f/1.6 and an Ultra-Wide camera lens with a field of view of 120-degree and an aperture of f/2.2. Lastly, there is also an 8-Megapixel Periscope Telephoto camera with an aperture of f/3.4.
On the front, the phone has a centrally located hole punch cut 16-Megapixel camera lens with 2.6mm in diameter for taking selfies and attending video calls.
The connectivity options on board the smartphone include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C 3.1. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner. Other sensors present on the smartphone include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
The phone houses a 4,600mAh Li-Po battery with support for 66W Fast Charging. The phone delivers it using Quick Charge 4+ technology of the company. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 161.5 x 73 x 8 mm and weighs 188 grams
ZTE Axon 30 Pro 5G Specifications And Features
The ZTE Axon 30 Pro 5G has pretty identical specifications to the Ultra version. The phone features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) flat AMOLED display. The display has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, an aspect ratio of 20:9, pixel density of 395 PPI, a touch sampling rate of 360 Hz, support for HDR 10+, and a screen to body ratio of 87.2%. The screen also uses the same Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The phone runs on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with Adreno 660 GPU but this model has up to 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB UFS 3.1 onboard storage.
The phone has a similar Quad Camera setup on the back as the Ultra version. The primary sensor is a Sony IMX682 64-Megapixel lens with an aperture of f/1.8. The secondary sensor is a 64-Megapixel ultrawide camera lens with a field of view of 120-degree and an aperture of f/2.4. The phone has a 5-Megapixel Macro camera sensor having an aperture of f/2.4. The phone also has a 2-Megapixel Depth sensor camera lens with an aperture of f/2.4 as well. The phone has a 16-Megapixel front camera placed as a hole-punch cutout that is 2.6mm in diameter.
The connectivity options for the smartphone include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, GPS, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and USB Type-C 3.1. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner. Other sensors present on the smartphone include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass just like the ultra variant.
The device packs a 4,200mAh Li-Po battery with support for 55W Fast Charging support using the company’s Quick Charge 4+ technology. The phone measures 163.6 x 75.3 x 7.9 mm and weighs 186 grams.
ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G, ZTE Axon 30 Pro 5G Pricing And Availability
The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G has been launched carrying a price tag of starting at CNY 4,698 (approx Rs. 53,700) for the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage option. The model with 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage option is available for CNY 4,998 (approx Rs. 57,100) while the most expensive offering of the series is the 16 GB RAM + 1 TB storage model available for CNY 6,666 (approx Rs. 76,200). The phone will be available in Black, Mint, White, and Leather color variants.
The ZTE Axon 30 Pro 5G also has 3 different models with the cheapest one being the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage option available for CNY 2,998 (approx Rs. 34,000). For CNY 3,298 (approx Rs. 37,500) you get the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model. And lastly, the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage option is available for CNY 3,598 (approx Rs. 41,000). The phone is available in Black as well as White color options.
Both the smartphones have been launched in China and are available for pre-orders starting April 19. There is no information yet regarding the sale and pricing of the phones globally and in India.
