Netflix has announced that it will be hosting Netflix StreamFest in India starting from midnight of December 5 till the end of the day on December 6. The StreamFest is nothing but a weekend of free Netflix for all in the country. Users can access the complete catalog of content being provided by the streaming giant.
The deal sounds insanely good and is one as well apart from a couple of caveats. Firstly, users will be given access to only one Standard Definition (SD) streaming screen just like the Rs. 499 Basic plan of Netflix. Lastly, the deal being provided by Netflix is a fantastic one, but you also have to be on time to obtain it, as there is a cap on the number of free viewers. Meaning you may log in during the StreamFest but if the number of users who have logged in before you has crossed the cap, you will be shown a message “StreamFest is at capacity” and will be unable to access the streaming service for free.
However, apart from these two conditions, users are free to access content available on the service in any language without any kind of restrictions. You can access content available in English, Hindi, Spanish, German, or any other language.
Users can also create profiles and add titles to ‘My List’ to shortlist it and watch it accordingly. You can also watch the content on Android, iPhone, smart TV, gaming console, Chromecast, or in a browser. The content can be viewed on any platform in Standard Quality and just one screen at a time.
Anyone in India can watch all the blockbuster films, the biggest series, award-winning documentaries, and entertaining reality shows for two whole days. Pick from the biggest Indian movies and series: experience the anticipation of ‘What happens in 25 days? in Sacred Games, go on a mad ride with Ludo, and be inspired by the Telugu hit Miss India. Or [go] international: feel the adrenaline rush of Extraction; and be immersed in a crime drama with the Spanish series, Money Heist. Your kids will love Mighty Little Bheem, and be able to choose their own adventure with the interactive Boss Baby: Get that Baby. Monika Shergill, Netflix India Vice-President
Even the process of signing in has been simplified for the StreamFest, as users will just be asked to provide their phone number or email address and set the password. There is no need to provide payment/ card details to use the streaming service.
