Google Nest Audio: A Smart Speaker Announced By Google

Google has unveiled Google Nest Audio and it will be branded as a successor to the Google Home. There were several devices announced and launched by Google including Pixel 5, Pixel 4A 5G, New Chromecast, and Google TV interface as well.

Google Nest Audio Specifications And Features

The Google Nest Audio is a smart speaker that is launched as a successor to the very popular Google Home. Google has redesigned the speaker to be much slimmer this time. The smart speaker is powered by the 1.8GHz Quad-Core Cortex-A53 processor.

The biggest flaws in the Google Home was the not so good sound quality despite being a speaker. This time Google has addressed this concern and built this speaker with a 19mm tweeter and a 75mm mid-woofer. This is supposed to deliver a 50% stronger bass and 75% louder than the previous smart speaker from Google.

Even the material of the speaker is supposedly been made with a lot of thought as the enclosure of the speaker is made up of 70% recycled plastic. Moreover, the grill of the speaker is optimized just like the fabric and material of the overall device to provide distortion-free audio.

The speakers make use of the ‘Media EQ’ feature which enables the speakers to automatically tune itself based on whatever the listener is listening to. Google has also added a custom-designed tweeter so that every music detail can be reproduced by the speakers.

The speaker houses 3 far-field microphones along with a physical microphone mute switch. Google has also provided touch controls on the speaker to adjust the volume of the device. Lastly, Google has also inserted a High-performance ML hardware engine.

In terms of connectivity, the speakers support Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and Bluetooth 5.0. There is also support for a built-in Chromecast.

Google Nest Audio Pricing And Availability In India

The Google Nest Audio has been priced at US$ 99.99 (approx Rs. 7358). The smart speakers come in 5 colors- Sage, Sand, Sky, Chalk, Charcoal color options.

Google has also announced that the speakers will be available to purchase in The USA, Canada, India, and other countries starting from October 5. They can be purchased from Flipkart and select other retailers in the country. There is however no official information from them regarding the pricing of the speaker in India.
