Instagram Reels To Launch In The US And Several Other Countries

Similar to India, due to national security concerns, we can soon expect the US Government to impose a ban on TikTok. As a matter of fact, the official announcement is just a few weeks away. In order to acquire the enormous user base of TikTok in the USA, Instagram is planning to launch Reels soon after the official Ban of TikTok.

The US and international launch were confirmed by a Facebook spokesperson and he stated that “We’re excited to bring Reels to more countries, including the U.S., in early August.” He further added that “The community in our test countries has shown so much creativity in short-form video, and we’ve heard from creators and people around the world that they’re eager to get started as well.”

The sudden ban of TikTok has also helped similar services like Dubsmash, Triller, and Byte to quickly expand their userbase.

In order to push Reels, Instagram has dedicated a huge portion of the explore tab to Reels. You can scroll endlessly to browse through the featured Reels on the explore tab. Additionally, users can also use self-generated audio clips or the ones created by other users to make such videos. Moreover, reels will allow users to adjust the speed of their videos. Instagram Reels can also be directly shared as a post on the user’s profile.

It is worth noting that, as of now no official release date for reels in the US has been announced by Instagram.
