OnePlus might soon overcome this limitation with a new and slightly cheaper OnePlus Nord that might be powered by the recently announced Snapdragon 690 processor. According to Carl Pei, the aforementioned smartphone is expected to launch later this year. Well, Snapdragon 690 is the cheapest smartphone processor in existence that offers 5G connectivity.

As mentioned above, in a recent media interview, Carl Pei gave some slight information about the release of a new Nord-branded smartphone later this year. The primary objective of OnePlus with the Nord smartphone lineup is to regain it’s lost share in the international mid-range smartphone market and that too without cannibalizing the sales of its flagship offerings.
Some details about the upcoming Nord smartphone from OnePlus have been spotted on Geekbench and the model number of this device is “OnePlus BE2028.” The SoC on this device is clocked at 1.71 GHz and one of the variants of this smartphone will come with 6GB RAM. Additionally, this smartphone will run on Android 10 out of the box.
The single-core and multi-core score of this smartphone is around 609 and 1728 respectively. This score is quite good for a mid-range device. To bring down the pricing of this smartphone OnePlus will make decrements in the display, camera, and battery departments.
We will continue to update this post as soon as new information is available about this mid-range device from OnePlus.
