MediaTek Helio G35 and Helio G25 Octa-Core Gaming-Centric SoCs Announced

MediaTek has introduced MediaTek Helio G35 and Helio G25 Octa-Core processors which are primarily focussed for gaming phones in the budget range. Both the SoC will be using MediaTek’s HyperEngine Technology which is said to improve the overall gaming experience. The two are integrated IMG PowerVR GE8320 graphics and 4G LTE modems and are also tipped to provide low latency gaming experience.

Both the processors are created for budget-friendly devices and will offer much more enhanced gaming than never before. MediaTek said about the G series of the processor that “meet the huge demand for competitively priced, mainstream gaming smartphones”.

MediaTek also said that its HyperEngine Game technology intelligently manages the resources which enables a much smoother performance and helps in getting a lag-free gaming experience. It also intelligently triggers the Wi-Fi and LTE concurrency.

For connectivity, the two SoC’s feature an integrated 4G LTE WorldMode modems which allow VoLTE on two SIM cards. Furthermore, it also comes with Bluetooth 5 and Wi-Fi 5 support. It also features a MediaTek TAS 2.0 smart antenna which is claimed to provide the best connection at the same time having low power consumption as well.

MediaTek Helio G35 Specifications

The MediaTek Helio G35 is packed with eight 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores. It also has a maximum frequency of 2.3 GHz. The GPU it comes with is the IMG PowerVR GE8320 that supports a display resolution of 1,080×2,400 pixels and also has a maximum frequency of 680MHz. There is also support for both LPDDR3 and LPDDR4x RAM up to 6GB.

In terms of camera, the Helio G35 supports two 13-megapixel cameras or a single 25-megapixel camera, at up to 30fps. There is also support for Single-Cam/Dual-Cam Bokeh, AI Beautification, AI Smart Photo Album, Multi-Frame Noise reduction, Hardware Warping Engine (EIS), and many more. While for connectivity, it has support for dual-4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 5 (b/g/n/ac), GPS, Glonass, and Bluetooth v5.0.

The MediaTek Helio G25, just like the G35 packs the same eight 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores but with a maximum frequency of 2.0 GHz. It also has the same GPU but with resolution support of 720×1,600 pixels. In terms of RAM, even the Helio G25 supports LPDDR3 and LPDDR4x RAM up to 6GB. Meanwhile, the camera and connectivity option on both the SoC is exactly the same.
