Xiaomi had recently released MIUI 12 in May and Beta testing for MIUI 12 in June earlier this year. MIUI has always been filled with several features and customization options, but there has been one issue that most MIUI users have experienced and annoyed by it is the presence of Ads in the UI.
Xiaomi-Mi CEO Lei Jun had said last year that they are looking to reduce the ads on the MIUI after several complaints from users. And with the MIUI 12, Xiaomi seems to have finally addressed this issue.
Users could disable the ads even in previous versions of MIUI, but it was a troublesome process by opting out of the User Experience Programme denying the automatic transfer of diagnostic data, and turning off recommended/ personalized content settings from all Mi apps.
In MIUI 12 finally, Xiaomi has given users to disable Ads from the UI that too with a simple procedure.
Steps To Disable Ads In MIUI 12
- Open the Settings app and click on the Account Options
- In the Account Options, click the Privacy Policy.
- In the Privacy Policy find the Ads in System Apps option.
- Turn that off to disable the ads.
That’s all you have to do to disable the annoying ads from the system apps in MIUI 12. In these four simple steps now you can get rid of all the ads and enjoy the MIUI.
Moreover, in MIUI 12, the users can also uninstall various unwanted applications that come pre-installed with the device. Apart from that, users can also disable promoted apps and even decline notifications for the applications that aren’t useful.
