Restaurants Can Now Add ‘Food Order’ Stickers In Stories Thanks To Instagram’s Collaboration With Swiggy And Zomato

Owned and operated by Facebook, Instagram has recently partnered with two of the mainstream food delivery services in India namely Swiggy and Zomato. This collaboration will help small business owners during the Covid-19 lockdown. Restaurant owners can now use the new ‘Food Order’ sticker in their stories and Instagram users can effortlessly tap on these stickers to instantly place their orders through the Swiggy and Zomato websites.

Instagram Partners With Swiggy And Zomato

As you might know, several small-scale businesses have been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Most restaurants and cafes were instantly shut down after the announcements of lockdown. However, a majority of restaurants have now opened up and they are following the WHO safety guidelines but people are still afraid to eat or order food from nearby restaurants.

Instagram has introduced the ‘Food Order’ sticker to spread awareness and help out both users and restaurants.

“We want to do our part in helping small businesses stay open, keep in touch with customers, and be informed on how to navigate this crisis. For the food industry, in particular, we’re rolling out the food order sticker, which will aid order discovery and spur engagement, and we’re glad to have partnered with Swiggy and Zomato for the same,” Nitin Chopra, industry head, e-commerce and retail, Facebook India said in a statement.

How To Use Instagram Food Order Sticker

If you want to improve the sales of your restaurant then the food order sticker might help you. In this section, we have shared a simple guide following which you can use the aforementioned sticker. It is worth noting that, only business and creator Instagram profiles can use the Instagram food order sticker.

Firstly create a basic Instagram story, and then tap on the stickers section. Next up, select the new ‘Food Orders’ sticker and Instagram will ask you to add either Swiggy or Zomato partner link. Lastly, publish your story.

Users can now tap on your sticker and directly order food from your restaurant.
