OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro India Launch Set For Today: Price, Specifications and More

OnePlus 7 Series smartphones are all set to launch in India today. The series includes two flagship smartphone, one is regular OnePlus 7 and another is a Pro variant that is OnePlus 7 Pro. The launch event will begin at 8.15 PM IST today and will be live streamed for everyone. India launch event is hosted from Bengaluru and the company is simultaneously hosting a Global Launch at London (4 PM BST) and New York (11 AM EDT).

Before the official launch, OnePlus has confirmed few specifications and design concept of the smartphone via social media teasers and advertisements. There were also some major leaks regarding specifications and price in India.

OnePlus 7 Series will be live streamed on the company’s official website as well as on Youtube India channel.

  • OnePlus 7 price in India is expected to be around Rs. 39,500 for the base variant (this pricing is based on previous smartphone price hikes).
  • OnePlus 7 Pro price in India is Rs. 49,999 for the 6GB RAM/128GB internal storage variant, Rs. 52,999 for the 8GB RAM/256GB internal storage variant and Rs. 57,999 for the 12GB RAM/256GB internal storage variant (this pricing is based on leaks).
  • The smartphone will be exclusively available for purchase via Amazon. It will come in Almond, Nebula Blue, and Mirror Grey colour options.

OnePlus is teasing OnePlus 7 series from last month and they shared most of the information regarding the Pro variant.

OnePlus 7 Pro is said to sport a 6.67-inch Curved AMOLED Display with QHD+ (1440×3120 pixels) resolution. The display is said as “industry-leading smooth display technology” which is a 90Hz display used for the first time by the company. The display is also HDR10+ certified and has been rated as A+ by DisplayMate. Based on Android 9.0 Pie on the top of Oxygen OS, the phone will run on 2.84GHz 7nm octa-core Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It will come with 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM options. The smartphone has the support of Dual-SIM (Nano+Nano).

In optics, there is a triple rear camera setup confirmed by the company itself, however, the exact details of the camera are not yet confirmed. The leaks suggest that the first camera includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.6 aperture, the second camera includes a 16MP wide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 117-degree field of view and the third camera includes an 8MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture, 78mm focal length, and 3x optical zoom.

On the front, the company said that there will be no bezels and no notch which directly hints the use of pop-up front camera. According to the leaks, the pop-up selfie camera will house a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, EIS support and 1080p video recording support at 30fps. The phone expected to have Dual-LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), Continuous Autofocus (CAF) and Laser Autofocus (LAF) on the back.

When it comes to storage, the company has confirmed the use of UFS 3.0 storage. It will come with 128GB/256GB (UFS 3.0) internal storage and without microSD card support. Connectivity suite of the smartphone will include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5, GPS and USB Type-C port. The sensors on board the handset are accelerometer, gesture sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and in-display fingerprint sensor. OnePlus 7 Pro battery capacity is said to be 4,000mAh with support of 30W Warp fast charging

OnePlus has teased less about the regular OnePlus 7 as the company is focusing more on the top-end Pro variant. However, few details of this smartphone are also leaked.

OnePlus 7 is said to sport a 6.4-inch Waterdrop Notch AMOLED Display with Full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) resolution. Based on Android 9.0 Pie on the top of Oxygen OS, the phone will run on 2.84GHz 7nm octa-core Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It will come with 6GB/8GB options. The smartphone has the support of Dual-SIM (Nano+Nano).

On the front, there is a waterdrop notch expected instead of pop-up mechanism. The front camera is embedded inside the waterdrop notch as seen on OnePlus 6T. It is expected to house a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, EIS support and 1080p video recording support at 30fps. The phone expected to have Dual-LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), Continuous Autofocus (CAF) and Laser Autofocus (LAF) on the back.
