Yu Yutopia To Launch This Month: Specs, Price Leaked

Micromax’s subsidiary YU Televentures is planning to launch what it calls to be the most powerful smartphone ever. The smartphone, which will be called Yutopia, is codenamed ‘Project Achilles’ internally.

YU Yutopia, which will be made in India. The smartphone is likely to be launched in time for Diwali, which means we could see its launch happening sometime this month last.

The Yutopia could be the YU 5050, which was leaked via benchmark results earlier this month ahead of the YU Yunique launch. YU founder, Rahul Sharma, tweeted about the phone last week, calling it the real beast.

YU Yutopia specifications are that it will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. A 5.2-inch display, 21-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The YU Yutopia will be made available in three colours – white, black and gold. Probably, There will be two different variants – one with 3GB of RAM along with a 1080p display, and another with 4GB of RAM along with 2K display.

The Yu Yutopia will come with a price tag of Rs. 21,499.

So far, YU has only launched sub-Rs 10,000 smartphones starting with the Yureka, followed by Yuphoria, Yureka Plus and most recently Yunique. The Yutopia would be the first flagship smartphone from the Micromax offshoot brand. With a claim like being the most powerful phone in the world, it remains to be seen whether YU can take on not just OnePlus and Xiaomi but even the likes of Samsung and HTC in the high-end smartphone space.
