Sony BRAVIA X90J Specifications And Features
The Sony BRAVIA X90J features a 55-inch Ultra-HD (3840×2160-pixel) LED display panel making use of Sony’s Triluminos technology. The technology is similar to the quantum dot technology that is used by most QLED TVs. Sony has further emphasized the display by providing support for HDR with the HLG, HDR10, and Dolby Vision formats.
The selling point of the TV is it is powered by the XR Cognitive Processor. Sony also claims the TV to be the world’s first TV having cognitive intelligence. The TV has a 4K panel having a 120fps frame rate. It also has full-array local dimming and an auto low-latency mode. The TV also has a variable refresh rate with a peak refresh rate of 120Hz.
By making use of XR Contrast Booster, the TV can provide enhanced contrast making the bright areas look brighter and dark areas darker. With the help of XR 4K Upscaling Sony claims the TV can process even more data providing greater clarity.
Sony has included advanced speaker technology for an immersive sound experience. The TV also includes XR Sound Position making sound come from behind the picture. This makes the sound even more natural and real. The TV makes use of XR Surround providing 3D audio without the need for in-ceiling or up-firing speakers.
The TV makes use of 20W speakers. To further enhance the sound and picture, it uses Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Sony has also provided a Netflix Calibrated Mode to enjoy Netflix originals and reproduce the same picture quality on a TV as on a studio evaluation master.
Another interesting feature included by Sony is the Voice Zoom 2 feature. This feature automatically detects the type of voice and then analyses it to enhance the clarity and focussing on dialogues. Sony also uses ambient optimization technology that automatically adjusts picture and sound to the user’s environment.
Users can make use of Voice Controls using Ok Google to control smart home devices. Sony also allows users to cast their smartphone screens on the TV using Chromecast and Apple AirPlay. The remote provided with the TV can be used to control all connected devices such as PlayStation, TWS earphones, and many more.
The connectivity options on the TV include Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2, and Apple HomeKit for screen mirroring and IoT connectivity. The TV is amongst the first TVs to run on the Google TV user interface. It also supports Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants.
