Vaio has introduced the Vaio Z (2021) as its latest flagship laptop. The Japan-based Vaio Corporation comes with a contoured carbon fiber build. The build is said to provide “exceptional toughness” despite being lightweight at the same time. The laptop also has an 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processor along with Intel Iris Xe graphics. The Z-series of the flagship range of laptops was first launched back in 2016.
Vaio Z (2021) Specifications And Features
The Vaio Z (2021) features a 14-inch Ultra-HD 4K (3,840×2,160 pixels) display. The display also comes with support for HDR. The laptop covers 99.8% of the DCI-P3 gamut and is also HDR 10-certified.
Vaio has also said that the display comes attached to a lid that can be opened to up to 180 degrees. The company has also provided ease for rotating the screen by giving a shortcut, as users can press Fn + 2 key to do so. Vaio also claims that the display of the notebook can even be opened and closed by making use of a single hand.
The notebook is powered by the 11th generation Intel Core i7 Tiger Lake processor coupled with Intel Iris Xe graphics. The laptop has up to 32 GB of LPDDR4 RAM along with up to 2 TB of PCIe SSD storage. Vaio has also made use of its proprietary Vaio TruePerformance technology that the company claims can boost CPU power limits alongside controlling heat emission.
To handle the audio output, the laptop comes with stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos. Vaio has also included Windows Hello facial recognition technology for quick and easy sign-in. Apart from it, there’s also a fingerprint sensor along with the already mentioned face sensor to let users login without entering their password.
The connectivity options in the laptop include two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity.
The Vaio Z (2021) makes use of the latest inclined keyboard system. The keyboard also has a backlit along with a 1.5mm key pitch stroke. The touchpad also has support for multi-touch. The camera included in the laptop comes with a physical camera shutter.
In terms of battery, the laptop comes with a Li-Po battery that the company claims can deliver up to 10 hours of usage on a single charge. Apart from this, the battery also supports up to 65W Fast Charging using the bundled AC adapter. The notebook despite being packed with all these features weighs about one kilogram.
Vaio Z (2021) Pricing And Availability
The Vaio Z (2021) has been launched with a starting price of $3,579 (approx Rs. 2,59,900) for the 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage option. While the variant with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage is available for $3,779 (approx Rs. 2,74,400). And the 16 GB RAM and 2 TB storage variant is sold for $3,979 (approx Rs. 2,88,900). While the most expensive offering is the 32 GB RAM and 2 TB storage variant sold for $4,179 (approx Rs. 3,03,400).
The laptop has been launched in India at the price of Rs. 3,52,990 on Amazon but the model specifications haven’t been released yet. Complete details and availability in India will be released in the coming days.
