Realme has launched the Realme 8 Pro and Realme 8 in India. The phones are the successor to the Realme 7 series launched back in September last year. Both the phones come with a Quad Camera setup on the back. Although the primary camera sensor on the two phones is different.

Realme 8 Pro Specifications And Features
The Realme 8 Pro features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) Super AMOLED display. The display comes with an aspect ratio of 20:9, a peak brightness of 1000 nits, a touch sampling rate of 180Hz, a pixel density of 411 PPI, and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.8%.
The phone runs on the company’s own Realme UI 2.0 that is based on Android 11. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC coupled with the Adreno 618 GPU. The phone also comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
In terms of optics, the phone has a Quad camera setup on the back. The primary sensor is a 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM2 lens having an aperture of f/1.88. There is also an 8-Megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a field of view of 119-degree and an aperture of f/2.25. Apart from these, there’s also a 2-Megapixel macro lens having an aperture of f/2.4, and a 2-Megapixel black and white sensor with an aperture of f/2.4.
For selfies and video calls, the phone has a hole-punch cutout in the front display to hose the 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor with an aperture of f/2.45.
The connectivity options on the smartphone include dual-band Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner. Other sensors on the smartphone include an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, magnetic induction sensor, accelerometer, and gyro-meter sensor. The phone also has a microSD card slot to further expand the storage.
The phone packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 50W charging through the 50W SuperDart Charge fast charging technology which is claimed to charge the phone up to 50% in just 15 minutes and 100% in 47 minutes. The phone also comes with a 65W fast charger. The phone measures 160.6×73.9×8.1mm and weighs 176 grams.
Realme 8 Specifications And Features
The Realme 8, the vanilla version of the Realme 8 series smartphones comes with the same display as the Pro model. The phone has the same 6.4-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display as the premium version of the device.
The phone is however powered by the Octa-core MediaTek Helio G95 SoC along with the Mali-G76 MC4 GPU as against the Qualcomm chipset as in the Pro model. The phone also has 8 GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage
Now coming to the cameras, the Realme 8 also has a Quad camera setup on the back. The phone has the same camera setup as the Pro version other than the Primary camera of the device, with this version replacing the 108-Megapixel sensor with a 64-Megapixel primary sensor having an aperture of f/1.79. Even the front camera is the exact same sensor as in the Pro model.
The connectivity options and the sensors onboard the device are also the exact same as the Pro model with this phone also using an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone measures 160.6×73.9×7.99mm and weighs 177 grams.
On the battery front, this phone has a larger battery than the Pro variant as the Realme 8 runs on the 5,000mAh battery with support for 30W Dart Charge fast charging. The phone has the 30W charger provided with the box.
Realme 8 Pro & Realme 8 Pricing And Availability In India
The vanilla version of the series, the Realme 8 will be sold in India at a starting price of Rs. 14,999 for the 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage version. The 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model will be available for Rs. 15,999. While the most expensive variant of the vanilla version of the phone is the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage that will be carrying a price tag of Rs. 16,999. The phones will be available in Cyber Black and Cyber Silver color options.
The Realme 8 Pro will be sold in India starting at the price of Rs. 17,999 for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage option. While the most expensive device of the series is the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage to be sold in India for Rs. 19,999. The phone will be available in Infinite Black and Infinite Blue color options and there is also an Illuminating Yellow variant which is coming soon.
The Realme 8 series smartphones go on sale in India from March 25 at 12 pm through Flipkart, the Realme India website, and select partner offline stores. There is also a launch offer of a 10 percent instant discount with ICICI Bank Credit card and EMI transactions.
