OnePlus has finally launched its latest flagship, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro smartphones globally after months of leaks and speculations. In the launch event earlier today, the smartphones with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The phones have a camera powered by the Swedish brand Hasselblad. Although both the phones come with 120Hz displays the Pro version comes with a Smart 120Hz feature.

OnePlus 9 Specifications And Features
The OnePlus 9 features a 6.55-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) Fluid Display AMOLED display having a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display also has an aspect ratio of 20:9, pixel density of 402 PPI, peak brightness of 1100 nits, and a screen-to-body ratio of 87.6%. The display also has support for an Always-on display. The screen also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
The phone runs on the Android 11 based OxygenOS 11. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the 5nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with Adreno 660 GPU. It comes with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. The phone also comes with a multi-layered cooling system called the OnePlus Cool Play.
Coming to cameras, the phone has Hasselblad optics powered Triple camera setup on the back. The primary sensor is a 48-Megapixel Sony IMX689 sensor having an aperture of f/1.8 with Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS). There is also a 50-Megapixel Sony IMX766 secondary sensor having an ultra-wide-angle f/2.2 Freeform lens. Lastly, there is also a 2-Megapixel monochrome sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. The back camera also has the capability to take up to 8K video at 30 FPS.
On the front, the phone has a 16-Megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor with an aperture of f/2.4 for taking selfies and attending video calls.
The connectivity options on the phone include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. In terms of sensors, the phone has an accelerometer, dual ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone has dual stereo speakers along with Dolby Atmos support.
The phone houses a 4,500mAh Li-Po battery with support for 65W charging through Warp Charge 65T fast charging. The phone can be charged from 1-100% in just 29 minutes. The phone also has 15W Fast Wireless charging support. The phone measures 160×73.9×8.1mm and weighs 183 grams.
OnePlus 9 Pro Specifications And Features
The OnePlus 9 Pro features a 6.7-inch QHD+ (1,440×3,216 pixels) Fluid Display 2.0 AMOLED display. The display also makes use of low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) technology that enables the Smart 120Hz feature. This feature is said to reduce the power consumption by up to 50 percent just by automatically matching the refresh rate by the user’s current scenario. The rate is managed from 1Hz for viewing photos and reading text to 24Hz for watching movies and as high as 120Hz for smooth scrolling.
Apart from this, the phone also has Hyper Touch support that increases the touch-responsive rate to 360Hz while playing mobile games. But this feature is limited to selected games such as PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, League of Legends, and Brawl Stars.
It doesn’t just end here for the games, as the OnePlus 9 Pro also has OnePlus Cool Play built on the heat dissipation along with a larger vapor chamber, thicker graphite sheets, and a larger copper foil than before.

The smartphone weighs 197 grams and measures 163.2×73.6×8.7mm.

The OnePlus 9 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 49,999 for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant. While the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variant will be available for Rs. 54,999. The phone will be available in Arctic Sky, Astral Black, and Winter Mist color options.
The most premium offering from the brand, the OnePlus 9 Pro has been handed a starting price of Rs. 64,999 for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage option. While the most expensive phone of the series from the company is the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage model having a price tag of Rs. 69,999. This premium phone from OnePlus will be sold in Morning Mist, Pine Green, and Stellar Black color options.
