Lava Launches Z Series And myZ That Allows User Choose Their Own Specs

Lava has made a strong comeback in the Indian markets with the launch of several devices earlier today. Lava launched the Lava Z1, Lava Z2, Lava Z4, and Lava Z6. The company claims these devices are manufactured locally in India. Lava also claims that about 60 percent of components including batteries and chargers being produced at a domestic facility.

Alongside the Lava Z1, Lava Z2, Lava Z4, and Lava Z6 the company has also announced the customizable Lava myZ smartphone. Users can completely select the specifications of the smartphone and basically build their own device. The users can select one of each from the available RAM, storage, rear camera, front camera, and color options being provided by the company.

Lava also unveiled the Zup program to let customers upgrade their existing Lava phones within a year. Users can also upgrade their RAM and storage version by just paying a nominal cost instead of paying the full amount of the smartphone.

Lava Z1 Specifications And Features

The Lava Z1 is said to be the company’s first Indian designed smartphone. The phone comes having a military-grade build featuring a 5-inch (480×854) pixels) FWVGA display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device is powered by the 1.8GHz Quad-Core MediaTek Helio A20 processor coupled with 2GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB of onboard storage.

Coming to the cameras on the device, the phone has a 5-Megapixel camera sensor on the back having an aperture of f/2.2 with LED flash. On the front, the phone has the same 5-Megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The device runs on Android 10 and has dual Nano SIM card slots. The phone also has a microSD card slot to expand the storage to up to 256 GB. The connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and micro USB. The phone packs a 3100mAh battery. The phone measures 145.1x 73.3×10.26mm.


Lava Z2 Specifications And Features

The Lava Z2 features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) IPS display. The display has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and the screen comes with a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The front display has a waterdrop-style notch. The smartphone runs on Android 10 (Go Edition) and is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC coupled with 2 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The phone also has an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

Lava Z2

The phone has a dual-camera setup on the back. The primary sensor is a 13-Megapixel camera sensor with an aperture of f/1.85. There is also a 2-Megapixel depth sensor lens on the back and LED flash. On the front, the phone has an 8-Megapixel camera sensor with an aperture of f/2.0.

For connectivity, the phone also has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. The device also has a 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, and a microSD card slot to expand storage to up to 512 GB. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery and measures 164.5×75.8×9.0mm while weighs 190 grams.


Lava Z4 And Lava Z6 Specifications And Features

The Lava Z4 and Z6 both are completely identical phones with the only difference being in the RAM of the device. The phones feature a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display having an aspect ratio of 20:9. The screen comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC and comes with 4 GB of RAM for the Lava Z4 while 6 GB of RAM in the Lava Z6.

The smartphone has a triple camera setup on the back. The primary camera is a 13-Megapixel sensor having an aperture of f/1.85. The secondary is an ultra-wide camera sensor with a 5-Megapixel lens. And lastly, the phone has a 2-Megapixel depth sensor camera. The front camera on the device is a 16-Megapixel camera sensor with an aperture of f/2.0.

Lava Z4 Z6

The connectivity options for the phone are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, and USB Type-C. The phone also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader. The smartphone has a dual-nano SIM along with a microSD card slot to expand storage to up to 512 GB.

These two devices house a 5,000mAh battery and also have Military-grade durability. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 164.5×75.8×9.0 mm and weighs 190 grams.


Lava myZ Program

This is one of a kind initiative introduced by Lava wherein they allow the users to customize their phones completely from the provided set of options. The phone will have a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display, MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, 5,000mAh battery, USB Type-C port, and Android 10 operating system as standard.

But the other specifications of the device can be customized and selected according to the user’s need and requirements.  Customers will have the option to select RAM, storage, rear and front cameras, and color options of their choice. RAM options range from 2GB to 6GB while the storage options are from 32GB to 128GB.

Users can also select dual and triple rear cameras as well as 8-megapixel and 16-megapixel selfie cameras. Customers will also get the option to choose between Red and Blue color options.


Lava Z1, Lava Z2, Lava Z4, Lava Z6, Lava myZ Pricing And Availability In India

  • The Lava Z1 is the cheapest of all the phones being launched by the company and is priced at Rs. 5,499 for the 2 GB RAM + 16 GB storage variant.
  • The Lava Z2 is the next in line with the price tag of Rs. 6,999 for the 2 GB RAM + 32 GB storage model.
  • The Lava Z4 will be sold in India for Rs. 8,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant.
  • And lastly, the Lava Z6 is the most expensive model of the series having a price tag of Rs. 9,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration.

The customizable Lava myZ has a variable price based on the configurations/ specifications the users opt for. But the price range of the devices in this line of devices from Lava is between Rs. 6,999 and Rs. 10,500.

Coming to the availability of these devices, the Lava Z2, Lava Z4, and Lava Z6 along with the MyZ will be available starting January 11, while the Lava Z1 will go on sale from January 26. The phones will be available for purchase through Amazon, Lava e-store, and offline retailers in the country upon their availability.
