Apple AirPods Max Over Ear Wireless Headphones Launched In India

Apple has announced the launch of Apple AirPods Max, the most expensive headphones from Apple yet. The headphones have an Over-Ear design and are truly wireless. Apple had announced the launch of a new hardware device on December 8 before announcing this wireless headphone. The headphones have been launched globally and the shipping of the same will begin on December 15 in India.

AirPods Max Specifications And Features

The AirPods Max is the first over-ear headphones from Apple and claimed to deliver high-fidelity audio. The earcups are said to be machined aluminum earcups attached to a unique suspension system that flexes with the stainless-steel headband covered with a breathable knit mesh canopy which enables it to fit a wide range of head sizes.

The earcups are also claimed to have an “acoustically optimized” net that surrounds the magnetically attached cushions. Apple also claims that the combination of materials provides a superior passive seal for an unparallel noise-canceling experience.

The headphones feature custom 40mm, dynamic drivers, from Apple along with its proprietary H1 chip. In total, it has 9 microphones, of which 8 also assist the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) functionality to block noise from all directions.

The AirPods Max also has spatial audio with dynamic head tracking by making use of accelerometer and gyroscope sensors to track head movement and optimize sound in real-time. It also has optical and position sensors to detect when the pair is removed from ears — or when one earcup is lifted — to pause the sound.

It has a dedicated noise control button to switch between ANC and Transparency mode along with a digital crown on top of the right earcup to play/ pause/ skip tracks, activate Siri, and, most importantly, control volume with precision. The headphones also have an adaptive equalizer to optimize sound for different genres of music.

The headphones make use of Bluetooth v5 for connectivity. It also has a single-button press Transparency mode just like the one present in the company’s true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones.

The wireless headphones from Apple are claimed to deliver a battery life of 20 hours on a single charge. Moreover, the company also claims it to have Fast Charging through which by just 5 mins of charge, it delivers about an hour of listening time.

AirPods Max Pricing And Availability In India

The AirPods Max has been priced in India at Rs. 59,900 and already listed on Apple India’s website. Although, the headphones aren’t available for purchase yet since the shipping of the product starts on December 15 from when customers can also buy the headphone from the store and other Apple resellers.

Apple will be selling the headphones with a special “smart” case designed for it, which has a flap open cover, along with a Lightning to USB-C cable for charging.
