Pricing And Availability
Available in only one Black color variant the Sony Xperia 5 II is priced at $950 which roughly translates into Rs. 69,975. The smartphone will first be launched in the USA and it will be available for pre-order starting September 29, 2020. Lastly, it will start shipping from December 4, 2020, and information about the launch in other international markets hasn’t been revealed yet.

Premium glass and metal construction is one of the major unique selling points of this smartphone. Both the front and back glass panels of the smartphone are protected by Gorilla Glass 6. There’s a dedicated shutter button on this smartphone and it offers IP65/IP68 dust/water-resistant.
Sony Xperia 5 II sports a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED HDR Display with a resolution of 2520×1080 pixels, 21:9 aspect ratio, and 120Hz refresh rate with 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display also packs BRAVIA X1 for mobile technology which further enhances the colors of the screen. Tried and trusted octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor powers this flagship smartphone. This octa-core SoC consists of x2.84 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.80 GHz Kryo 585. Moreover, there’s an Adreno 650 GPU and the smartphone runs on Android 10 out of the box.
The smartphone comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. Luckily, storage is expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. The triple camera setup on Sony Xperia 5 II consists of a 12MP rear primary sensor with Exmor RS sensor, f/1.7 aperture, Hybrid OIS/EIS, ZEISS optics; a 12MP f/2.2 aperture 124° ultra-wide-angle; and a 12MP f/2.4 aperture telephoto lens, Hybrid OIS/EIS, 3x optical zoom.
Sony states that Xperia 5 II is the world’s first phone to feature 4K HDR 120fps slow-motion movie recording and it can capture and playback up to 5x slow-motion when recorded at 24fps. Surprisingly, the flagship smartphone still retains the 3.5mm audio jack and it has stereo speakers.
The 4000mAh battery of the device supports USB-PD fast charging. For connectivity, the smartphone offers 5G (sub-6GHz) / 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) 2 x 2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ GLONASS, and NFC. As for security, there’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on this device.
