Samsung has announced Samsung Galaxy A42 5G in the company’s ‘Life Unstoppable’ virtual event. Although Samsung hasn’t revealed the complete specifications of the device yet, however, they did announce the phone is set to be the cheapest 5G offering from the South Korean smartphone giants yet. The phone also will be having a quad-camera setup along with a gradient finish on the back.

Samsung Galaxy A42 5G Specifications And Features
Not much is known yet, but Samsung did announce few details of this upcoming device. The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G will feature a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display. The front side will be having a notch for a single camera. On the back, the phone will be having a Quad camera setup. Along with the four camera modules, the backside of the phone also houses a flash just below it.
The images released from Samsung shows the Power and Volume buttons are placed on the right side of the phone. The images don’t show any fingerprint reader on the back which hints at an In-Display fingerprint reader.
Another interesting reveal from Samsung was the body of the device, as the back of the phone revealed a gradient Black and Gray color.
The phone is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A41 launched in March earlier this year. Going by how the A-series smartphones from Samsung so far, the phone is likely to have a 5,000mAh or larger battery.
Samsung Galaxy A42 5G Expected Pricing And Launch
So far no official pricing of the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G has been released from Samsung yet. But going by the claim from the company that the phone is going to be the cheapest 5G enabled smartphone from Samsung yet and currently, the Galaxy A51 priced at $499.99 (approx Rs. 36,600) is the cheapest 5G phone from the smartphone giants. And so the phone can be expected to be priced at about Rs. 30,000.
The predecessors of the phone, the Galaxy A40, and Galaxy A41 have both been launched in March but Samsung did say regarding the specifications of the phone that it will be “revealed closer to its launch later in the year”, so it can be expected the phone to be launched between October and December.
