Dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises, Paytm has launched a new All-in-One Portable Android POS device. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the device will facilitate contactless ordering and payments. In order to make the POS system available for more and more users, Paytm is offering an introductory price of Rs 499 per month rental.

All-In-One Portable Android POS: Features
The all-in-one portable Android POS sports a smartphone-like form-factor. The device packs a 4.5-inch touch screen and Paytm claims that it offers an all-day battery life. To scan QR codes, the Android-based POS system utilizes a camera. As for connectivity, it supports 4G SIM cards, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
Paytm claims that their Android-based POS is more powerful than any existing portable Linux based POS devices presently available in the Indian market. In addition to payments, the device can also be used to accept orders. For those interested, the device weighs 163 grams, and it is 12mm thick. The small dimensions of the device make it profoundly portable. As for software and services, the Android POS from Paytm comes with built-in cloud-based software for billing, payments, and customer management.
In the financial year of 2021, Paytm is aiming to invest Rs 100 crore on the distribution and marketing of these devices. Renu Satti, the Senior Vice President at Paytm stated that,
“We innovate products & services that are aligned with our mission of enabling SMEs with technology-led solutions. This affordable pocket-sized Android POS device will enable everyone from SMEs (small and medium enterprises) to delivery personnel of Kirana stores to collect payments safely,”
Furthermore, in the press statement Paytm stated that,
“We aim to issue over 2 lakh devices within the next few months which will generate over 20 million transactions per month.”
As stated earlier, the device will be available at an introductory price of Rs 499 per month rental.
