For the past few months, iPhone 12 leaks and rumors have been floating all over the internet. The latest addition to these leaks is the fact that the iPhone 12 launch will be delayed by a few weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Bloomberg, Hock Tan, who is the chief executive officer of Broadcom Inc. hinted that the 2020 iPhone launch event will be delayed by a few weeks.
He shared these leaks when he was on an earnings conference call with analysts. Well, if you have been eyeing the 2020 iPhone lineup then you might have to wait for a little more time.
Delay In iPhone 12 Launch Events Hints Broadcom
Broadcom is a well-known chipmaker that supplies many different components to Apple and other large and mainstream consumer electronics companies. While on a conference call with analysts, Hock Tan hinted that unlike the previous years where there is a drastic increment in revenues in Q3, this time around there will be a decrement in earnings.
According to him, Broadcom will witness a decrement in earnings in Q3 of 2020. However, the earnings will get back to normal in Q4 of 2020. The primary reason behind the decrement in the earnings is the delay in the launch of the iPhone 12.
As you might know, the latest generation of iPhones is launched in either the first or second week of September. Broadcom generally receives orders for new iPhone components in the month of July. Sadly, this won’t happen in 2020.
There is a supply chain disruption that is caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This disruption will impact the launch of the 2020 iPhone lineup. Additionally, even after the launch, the iPhone 12 lineup will start shipping in the month of November.
