Apple quietly refreshed the MacBook Air and the entry-level MacBook Pro with new features and upgraded internals. Apple is focusing these two new MacBook’s towards college students. So a special student discount is also being offered on both these laptops.

So here’s everything you need to know about the new MacBook Air and the new MacBook Pro.

MacBook Air Updated With True Tone Display

Apple introduced the redesigned MacBook Air in late 2018. Well, MacBook Air has just been updated with 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 8th-generation processor and 8GB of RAM. The base variant of MacBook Air comes with 128GB of storage. Apple claims that the new MacBook Air will offer an additional two hours of battery life as compared to the previous generation.

The new MacBook Air will also feature a True Tone display. This display will automatically adjust the colour temperature based on the lighting conditions of the environment. The new MacBook Air also has slightly improved graphics performance. Similar to the previous generation MacBook Air the new one retains the stereo speakers and Touch ID  sensor.

In India, this laptop will retail for a price of Rs. 99,900, while students can get this MacBook for Rs. 92,074. You can buy this MacBook from any Apple Authorised Resellers from 25th July.

It is worth noting that, Apple has officially discontinued the non-Retina MacBook Air and the 12-Inch MacBook.


Entry Level MacBook Pro Updated With TouchBar

The 13-Inch entry-level MacBook hasn’t been updated since 2017. Well, after two long years Apple has finally released an updated variant of the entry-level MacBook Pro.

This new MacBook Pro is powered by the new 8th-generation quad-core processors coupled with improved Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645. This new MacBook Pro will also have the Touch Bar and Touch ID sensor. Similar to the MacBook Air, the 13-Inch MacBook Pro will also get a True Tone Retina display and the Apple T2 Security Chip.

The base variant of MacBook Pro comes with 128GB of storage. The entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro now starts at Rs. 1,19,900 and it will retail for a discounted price of Rs. 1,11,264 for college students.
