On Tuesday, YouTube India officially launched YouTube Music (both ad-supported and ad-free) and YouTube Premium (ad-free) in India. Both services were most-anticipated audio and video streaming services. To recall, both services are already launched in seventeen countries last year in June.
From last week, some users were reporting a signup pop up of these services, but now it is official and everyone in India can signup for the service.
YouTube Music service offers official songs, albums, playlists, radio, YouTube’s remixes, covers, live performance, music videos — all will be customized and personalized.
YouTube Music is available in two tiers — the first tier is free and ad-supported and the second tier is paid and ad-free.
In YouTube Music Premium, users will get extra benefits in which users can play music in the background, can download music for offline playback support and an ad-free experience.
YouTube Music Premium price in India starts at Rs. 99 per month. There is also an introductory offer where users will get a free premium subscription for three months but it will be available to those users who have never used any YouTube or Google streaming services.
If users are already paid for Google Play Music subscription then users will also get YouTube Music Premium without any extra cost.
YouTube Premium service offers full access to all YouTube Originals, background play support, offline download support for videos and an ad-free experience on YouTube.
YouTube Premium price in India starts at Rs. 129 per month. All users opting for YouTube Premium will also get YouTube Music Premium membership. Samsung Galaxy S10 users will get four months free YouTube Premium along with YouTube Music Premium.
YouTube Premium doesn’t require any standalone app, the official YouTube app will offer all benefits of YouTube Premium after subscription.
