On Wednesday, Nubia launched ‘Nubia Red Magic’ smartphone in India. The smartphone was launched in China earlier this year.
The latest smartphone sports a full-HD+ Display, 8GB of RAM, Snapdragon 835 SoC and much more. It is a gaming smartphone that comes with unique design and RGB strip on the back.

Nubia Red Magic: Price in India, Sale Date and Launch Offers
- Nubia Red Magic price in India is Rs. 29,999 for the 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage variant.
- The smartphone will be exclusively available for purchase via Amazon.in starting December 20 at 12 AM-midnight. It will come in Black colour.

Nubia Red Magic: Specifications and Features
Now coming to the specifications, Nubia Red Magic sports a 6-inch LTPS TFT Display with 18:9 aspect ratio and full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) resolution. The smartphone has calculated 78.45 percent screen-to-body ratio along with NEG T2X-1 glass panel. Based on Nubia Red Magic OS on the top of Android 8.1 Oreo, the phone runs on 2.45GHz Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with 8GB RAM option.
In optics, there is a 24MP Samsung 5K2X7SX sensor with f/1.7 aperture. On the front, there is an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The phone has LED flash on the back.
When it comes to storage, the smartphone comes with 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage. The smartphone doesn’t have expandable storage. Connectivity suite of the smartphone includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port. The sensors on board the handset are accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, electronic compass, ambient light sensor and rear-facing fingerprint sensor. The Nubia Red Magic battery capacity is 3,800mAh with the support of NeoPower 3.0 fast charging. The handset measures 158.1×74.9×9.5mm~6.85mm and weighs 185 grams.
The smartphones pack a lot of features which are listed below:
- The smartphone has a new vector aesthetic design 174.5° dot-cutting with 6.85mm at its thinnest point.
- The body is made of triple anodized aviation-grade aluminium alloy that has gone through 5 sandblasting processes and uses new lamination technology with three-layer graphite lamination that increases thermal diffusibility by 117%.
- It also features dual air convection cooling system that is designed with three cooling ports, additional layers of graphite, and topped with a convex-styled back.
- It has 16.8 million colour RGB colour lights on the back.
- Camera features include 0.9-micron pixel size.
- Front camera features include 1.12-micron pixel size.
- It has a game button that activates gaming mode by limiting the background network and option to block calls, SMS, notifications, etc. This also activates turbo acceleration technology.
- GameBoost that is touted to enhance your gaming experience by freeing up memory-intensive resources.
- Nubia has optimized 128 games fully offering high-frame rate, smoother performance and also increases game loading speed by 50%.
- Audio features include TAS2555 Amplifier and DTS audio.
Author’s Opinion
The Nubia Red Magic is a power packed smartphone that comes with a number of excellent features. Its powerful configuration ensures that you can do multitasking and even play high graphics-centric games with ease.
Talking about the competition in this price range of around 30K, the real competitors of this smartphone are Poco F1 and Asus Zenfone 5Z.
If compared with the competition, both Poco F1 and Asus Zenfone 5Z excel in term of performance because of new Snapdragon 845 SoC whereas Nubia Red Magic still uses last year’s processor i.e. Snapdragon 835 SoC. Also, the single rear camera seems bit low.
Overall, We don’t recommend Nubia Red Magic to buy in this price range. However, at the time of writing this article, our first recommendation will be Poco F1 (Flash Review).
