Apple iPad Pro (2018) With 2nd-gen Apple Pencil Launched

On Tuesday, Apple launched iPad Pro (2018) at an event held in New York, USA. The latest line of tablets from Apple are successors of previous generation iPads.

The trillion-dollar company launched two new tablets — 11-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Both the tablets now comes with sleeker design with narrower bezels, when compared with previous generation iPads. The other upgrades includes support for Face Unlock, new A12X bionic chip, USB Type-C Port and new graphics chip.

On the other hand, 2nd-gen Apple Pencil was also launched at the same event. The latest Pencil is the successor of the previous gen Apple Pencil which was launched back in 2015. The new Apple Pencil now comes with a new design with wireless charging support.

iPad Pro (2018), 2nd-gen Apple Pencil: Specifications and Features

iPad Pro (2018)

Now coming to the specifications, iPad Pro sports an 11-inch and 12.9-inch Liquid Retina Display with 264ppi, 600nits brightness and P3 colour gamut. The 11-inch iPad Pro has 2388×1668 pixels resolution while the 12.9-inch has 2732×2048 pixels resolution. Based on iOS 12, Both tablets run on 7nm A12X Bionic chip processor with M12 motion coprocessor. No information regarding RAM was revealed by the company.

In optics, there is a single rear camera setup, the 12MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Cinematic Video Stabilization is available and it can shoot 4K videos at 60fps, Super Slow Motion videos at 240fps (720p), 120fps (1080p). The rear camera comes with camera features like Panorama, Hybrid IR filter, Live Photos, Wide colour capture for photos and Live Photos, Exposure control, Noise reduction, Smart HDR, Auto image stabilisation, Burst mode, Timer mode, Photo geotagging.

On the front, there is a single camera setup as well, the 7MP FaceTime HD sensor with f/2.2 aperture.It can shoot 1080p videos at 60fps. The front camera comes with camera features like Face Unlock, Portrait mode, Portrait Lighting, Animoji and Memoji, Retina Flash, Wide colour capture, Smart HDR, Burst mode, Exposure control, Timer mode. Both tablets have Quad-LED flash on the back.

When it comes to storage, Both tablets comes with 64GB/256GB/512GB/1TB  internal storage (No expandable storage). Connectivity suite of the tablets includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, GPS and USB Type-C. The sensors on board the handset are accelerometer, barometer, ambient light sensor and FaceID. The 11-inch iPad Pro battery capacity is 29.37Wh with the support of 18W charging and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro battery capacity is 36.71Wh with the support of 18W charging. The tablets are listed in Silver and Space Gray colours. The 11-inch iPad Pro measures 247.6×178.5×5.9mm and weighs 468 grams while the 12.9-inch iPad Pro measures 280.6×214.9 x5.9mm and weighs 631 grams.

2nd-gen Apple Pencil

The 2nd-gen Apple Pencil now comes with a new design and magnetically attached to the new iPad Pro. Wireless charging is supported by the new Apple Pencil.

Smart Keyboard Folio

A new Smart Keyboard Folio designed to protect both the front and back of iPad Pro. The new folio keyboard lets you prop up the iPad at two different angles and just like before, it connects to the iPad via the Smart Connector so it doesn’t require pairing or charging.

The latest iPad Pro got many upgrades and new features, which are listed below:

12. Four speaker setup that houses two woofers and two tweeters offering wider stereo sound.
