Six Asus ZenFone 3 series smartphones Launched in India

On Wednesday (August 17, 2016), Asus launched its ZenFone 3 series in India. Pricing of smartphones starts from Rs.21,999. The ZenFone 3 (ZE520KL) is available at Rs. 21,999, the ZenFone 3 (ZE552KL) at Rs. 27,999, the ZenFone 3 Ultra (ZU680KL) at Rs. 49,999 and ZenFone 3 Laser (ZC551KL) at 18,999. The ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) starts at Rs. 49,999 and ends at Rs.62,999 (with Snapdragon 821 variant).

While the Asus ZenFone 3 (ZE520KL) and Asus ZenFone 3 (ZE552KL) will be available from Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, and Sangeetha Mobiles from today (August 17, 2016), it will hit retail shops before the end of the month. The Asus ZenFone 3 Laser (ZC551KL), Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL), and Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra (ZU680KL) on the other hand will be available across online and offline retail channels from next month.

All four Asus smartphones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow, feature metal bodies, and support hybrid dual-SIM card slots. The company has also announced a variant of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) for India, called the ZenFone 3 Deluxe Special Edition, which runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC and bears 256GB of inbuilt storage.

The company at the launch event also announced that the Asus ZenBook 3 and Asus Transformer 3 Pro, devices that were unveiled at Computex 2016 alongside the ZenFone 3 series, will be available from online and offline retail channels in India from October, priced at Rs. 1,47,990 and Rs. 1,44,990 respectively.

To note, Asus has brought the ZenFone 3 (ZE520KL) model to India, which features a 5.2-inch display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 2650mAh battery, as well as the ZenFone 3 (ZE552KL) model, which features a 5.5-inch display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of inbuilt storage, and a 3000mAh battery.

Other specifications between the two variants remain the same. The Asus ZenFone 3 (ZE520KL) is powered by 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor that comes with 3GB of RAM. It packs a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The 32GB of onboard storage can be expanded via microSD (up to 2TB).

The Asus ZenFone 3 (ZE520KL) is powered by a 2650mAh non removable battery. It measures 146.87×73.98×7.69mm, and weighs 144 grams. Connectivity options on board include 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and FM radio.

The ZenFone 3 Laser on the other hand sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display, and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). As far as the cameras are concerned, the Asus ZenFone 3 Laser packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, dual-tone LED flash, and electronic image stabilisation. It sports a 8-megapixel front facing camera, and is powered by a 3000mAh battery.

Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra (ZU680KL) on the other hand sports a 6.8-inch full-HD display, and is powered by the same octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It bears packs 64GB of internal storage that’s expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). It packs a 23-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies. It’s powered by a 4600mAh non removable battery.

Finally, coming to the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) – it is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and it comes with 6GB of RAM. The phone packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB). As far as the cameras are concerned, the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) packs a 23-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies. It is powered by a 3000mAh battery.
