Xiaomi making debut in laptop field with its $750 MacBook Air clone laptop

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has enlarged its business, by entering into the field of laptops. It already makes smartphones, TVs, air purifiers and fitness trackers, and now it also added a new one in its index that is laptop making. Xiaomi named the laptop as Mi Notebook Air.

New upcoming laptop by Xiaomi, just looks like MacBook Air, but it also has a striking resemblance to the latter one. But, Xiaomi in its statement told that “the 13.3-inch version of its laptop is 13% thinner and 11% smaller overall, than Apple’s popular notebook.

It is available in gold and silver metallic finishes and metal body of the laptop weighs 2.82lbs (1.28kg), which is more than the MacBook Air(2.32lbs). It has long lasting battery which helps it to last for 9.5 hours on a single charge, as said by Xiaomi. You can fuel it up with USB Type-C port to 50% in just 30 minutes. There are also HDMI and USB 3.0 slots for additional devices.

Xiaomi, launched two versions of the laptop, the second one is smaller version with 12.5 inch and weighs 2.36 lbs and could run upto 11.5 hours, that is super amazing. This variant of the laptop consists of  an Intel Core M3 processor with integrated graphics, 4GB RAM and a 128GB SSD.

These specifications are just amazing for all the gadget buyers and even further price sweetens the deal with its value that is- for 13 inch it is $750 and $525 for 12.5 inch variant. They will be launched on August 2 and there sale starts the same day. But, the bad news is that these laptops will only be sold in China, which may hurt many Xiaomi admirers.

Now, it will be interesting to see how these laptops are gonna set benchmark in market, in the upcoming days. Since , Xiaomi has made its reputation in market with quality products at low price, so now let’s wait and watch that if it could also follow the same philosophy in this field around the globe!
