Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi, has introduced the Redmi 14C, a budget-friendly smartphone that builds upon the foundation set by its predecessor, the Redmi 13C, launched in December 2023.
The Redmi 14C brings several upgrades, including a larger display, improved performance, and a more powerful camera system.
Redmi 14C Specifications
The Redmi 14C features a 6.88-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 720×1640 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. With a peak brightness of 450 nits, the display offers decent visibility in various lighting conditions.
The smartphone is available in four color options: Dreamy Purple, Midnight Black, Sage Green, and Starry Blue. The device also incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Powering the Redmi 14C is the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset. The phone comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. For storage, the Redmi 14C offers up to 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, which can be expanded via a MicroSD card slot.
In terms of photography, the Redmi 14C is equipped with a 50-megapixel primary rear camera featuring an f/1.8 aperture. While the second lens on the device remains unspecified. On the front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
The Redmi 14C is powered by a 5,160mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging. However, it is important to note that the phone does not include a power adapter in the box.
The smartphone runs on Android 14, layered with Xiaomi’s HyperOS skin. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The device is also equipped with various sensors, including an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, virtual proximity sensor, and e-compass.
Pricing and Availability
While the global price for the Redmi 14C is yet to be officially announced, the phone is reportedly available in Czechia starting at CZK 2,999 (approximately Rs. 11,100) for the 4GB+128GB model.
The 8GB+256GB variant is priced at CZK 3,699 (approximately Rs. 13,700). The company has not yet revealed plans to launch the Redmi 14C in India.
