OnePlus 12 Unveiled with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Processor and 50-Megapixel Sony LYT-808 Camera: Price, Specs

OnePlus officially launched the OnePlus 12 in China on Tuesday, marking its debut with Qualcomm’s cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The device boasts a 2K LTPO AMOLED screen capable of a peak brightness of 4,500 nits.

The camera setup includes a powerful 50-megapixel triple rear camera configuration, featuring Sony’s advanced LYT-808 sensor and a 3x periscope telephoto lens. The OnePlus 12 offers an impressive storage capacity, with options of up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

OnePlus 12 Pricing and Availability

The OnePlus 12 is priced at CNY 4,299 (approx. Rs. 50,700) for the base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB variants are available for CNY 4,799 (approx. Rs. 56,600) and CNY 5,299 (approx. Rs. 62,500), respectively.

The top-tier model, featuring 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, is priced at CNY 5,799 (approx. Rs. 68,400). Available in Pale Green, Rock Black, and White color options, the OnePlus 12 is currently open for pre-orders in China, with a global launch, including India, expected in January 2024.

OnePlus 12 Specifications and Features

The OnePlus 12 operates on Android 14-based ColorOS 14 and supports dual Nano-SIM cards. Its 6.82-inch quad-HD+ LTPO OLED screen boasts a resolution of 1,440 x 3,168 pixels, a refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, and an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The device is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, coupled with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM.

Continuing the partnership with Hasselblad, the OnePlus 12’s camera setup comprises a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony LYT-808 sensor, offering optical image stabilization (OIS) and an f/1.6 aperture. The rear camera array also includes a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS, 3x optical zoom, and an f/2.6 aperture, along with a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera featuring a 114-degree field-of-view.

For selfies and video calls, the front camera is a 32-megapixel shooter with an f/2.4 aperture.

In terms of storage, the OnePlus 12 offers up to 1TB of UFS 4 inbuilt storage. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Biometric authentication is handled by an under-display fingerprint sensor. The device is equipped with a variety of sensors, including a gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.

A robust 5,400mAh battery powers the OnePlus 12, supporting 100W SuperVOOC charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The device also boasts an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance. Its dimensions are 164.3×75.8×9.15mm, and it weighs 220g, as per the company’s specifications.
