Google is one of the best in the business at creating new wallpapers, so every Pixel launch event is a treat to watch. It’s very common for a new phone’s wallpapers to be leaked all over the Internet, but in the case of Pixel, the new wallpapers typically leak before the phone’s launch.
Google intends to distribute more wallpapers than we had anticipated, and they’ve already started showing them off.
Last month, Google released official renders of the Pixel 6 Pro, demonstrating the phone’s compatibility with Material You theming. These images, which you can see below, show off two new backgrounds, one light-themed and the other dark-themed, from which the phone extracts colours to create palettes for widgets, icons, and other UI elements.
The Google Wallpaper Images app on the Pixel 6 Pro contains these wallpapers. Photographer Andrew Zuckerman shot all of the new wallpapers, which are entire plants. The following plants were photographed, and there are light and dark versions available:
- Cattleya Orchid
- Echeveria ‘Blue Prince’
- Hellebores
- Moth Orchid
- Persian Lily
- Pincushion Protea
“Bloom one by one, Grow together.” reads the description for each wallpaper.
Adding to this, each of the Pixel 6 Pro’s three color variants — black, gold, and silver — will come with one of three pre-installed wallpapers. Those three photos, each with a resolution of 1440×3120, are also included in the wallpaper package.
The resolution of the remaining twelve wallpapers is 2160×2400. You can download the entire collection from the download link below if you want to make one of these lovely plants photographs your wallpaper.
