Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G and Samsung Galaxy A22 4G smartphones in the European markets earlier this week. Both the phones are in the budget-friendly price range. Apart from 5G compatibility, the two phones also have other differences in terms of specifications as well.

The 5G model comes with a triple rear camera setup while the 4G version has a quad rear camera setup. The 5G version also has a larger display along with higher RAM.

Samsung Galaxy A22 5G Specifications And Features

The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ display having a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display comes with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:9, a pixel density of 399 PPI, and a screen-to-body ratio of 82.3%. The screen has a water droplet-style front camera.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Octa-Core MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G SoC. The GPU in place is the Mali-G57 MC2. The phone comes with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage.

Coming to the camera, the phone has a triple camera setup on the back. The primary camera is a 48-Megapixel sensor having an aperture of f/1.8. The phone also has a 5-Megapixel Ultra Wide Angel camera sensor with an aperture of f/2.2. And lastly, the phone has a 2-Megapixel Depth sensor lens with an aperture of f/2.4. For selfies and video calls, the phone also has an 8-Megapixel front camera having an aperture of f/2.0.

For connectivity, the phone has 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, microSD card slot, and more. The microSD card slot can be used to expand storage to up to 1TB. The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Other sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.

The phone houses a 5,000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery that supports 15W Fast Charging. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 167.2 x 76.4 x 9 mm and weighs 203 grams.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 4G features a 6.4-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display having a refresh rate of 90Hz and a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The display has an aspect ratio of 20:9, a pixel density of 274 PPI, and a screen-to-body ratio of 84.3%.

The phone runs on Android 11 based One UI Core 3.1. It is powered by an unnamed octa-core SoC. The chipset is rumored to be MediaTek Helio G80. The phone has up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage.

In terms of the optics, the phone has a Quad Camera setup on the rear. The primary sensor is a 48-Megapixel lens having an aperture of f/1.8 with optical image stabilization (OIS). The phone also has an 8-Megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle camera having an aperture of f/2.2.

Samsung has also provided a 2-Megapixel Depth sensor and Macro camera lens with both having an aperture of f/2.4. On the front, the company has provided a 13-Megapixel selfie shooter having an f/2.2 aperture.

For connectivity, Samsung has provided 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and much more. The device also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor, among others.

The phone packs the same 5,000mAh battery as the 5G version with support for 15W Fast Charging. The smartphone measures 159.3×73.6×8.4mm and weighs 186 grams.

Samsung Galaxy A22 5G, Samsung Galaxy A22 Pricing And Availability

The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G has been launched by Samsung carrying a price tag of EUR 229 (approx Rs. 20,300) for the starting model having 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. While the model with 4GB RAM and 128GB will be sold for EUR 249 (approx Rs. 22,100).

Although there are two more models with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, the pricing for these hasn’t been revealed by Samsung so far. The phone will be available in Grey, Mint, Violet, and White color options. The smartphone is expected to hit the European markets from July.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 4G has been launched in 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 4GB RAM+ 128GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configurations. Samsung has not released the pricing and availability of these phones so far. The device will be available in Black, Mint, Violet, and White color options.

There is no information regarding the pricing and availability of the phones in India so far.
