Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 Launched: All You Need To Know

Microsoft has launched the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 in select markets across the world. The laptop has been launched in Intel and AMD variants. There are also 2 size options that include a 13.5-inch and a 15-inch size screen. The laptop has an aspect ratio of 3:2. The notebook comes as a successor to the Surface Laptop 3 launched back in October of 2019.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 Specifications And Features

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 features 13.5-inch or 15-inch screen size. The 13.5-inch display model comes with a 10 point multi-touch enabled PixelSense display having a resolution of 2,256×1,504 pixels, a pixel density of 201 PPI, and an aspect ratio of 3:2. While the 15-inch variant comes with a resolution of 2,496×1,664 pixels with the same pixel density and aspect ratio. Both the size variants come with Surface Pen support.

The laptop comes in Intel and AMD versions. The 13.5-inch model comes in an Intel version having up to 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor paired with Intel Iris Xe graphics or an AMD Ryzen 5 4680U processor with AMD Radeon graphics. The 15-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 comes in an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor or an AMD Ryzen 7 4980U processor.

The notebook comes with up to 32 GB of LPDDR4x RAM along with up to 1 TB of SSD storage. The laptop comes with Windows 10 Home edition. Microsoft also provides Office 365 Family 30-day free trial with the notebook.

In terms of connectivity options, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.0, a USB Type-C port, a USB Type-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has a 720p HD webcam with Windows Hello face authentication for enhanced security. For audio output, the laptop comes with dual far-field studio mics and Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Atmos.

Coming to the battery, the notebook houses a 47.4Whr battery. According to the company, the battery can last for up to 19 hours on the 13.5-inch with AMD Ryzen CPU and up to 17 hours with the Intel CPU. On the 15-inch model, the AMD Ryzen CPU model can last up to 17.5 hours while the Intel variant can last up to 16.5 hours. In terms of dimensions, the 13.5-inch model measures 308x223x14.5mm while the 15-inch model measures 339.5x244x14.7mm.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 Pricing And Availability

The 13.5-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 has been launched at a starting price of $999 (approx Rs. 75,200) for the AMD Ryzen 5 + 8 GB RAM + 256 GB SSD variant of the notebook. While the Intel version having Intel Core i5 + 8 GB RAM + 512 GB SSD variant will be sold for $1,299 (approx Rs. 97,700). The laptop comes in Ice Blue and Platinum colors that have Alcantara palm rests as well as Matte Black and Sandstone colors that have metal palm rest.

While the 15-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 of the notebook comes at a starting price of $1,299 (approx Rs. 97,700) for the AMD Ryzen configuration and $1,799 (approx Rs. 1.35 lakh) for the Intel configuration. It comes in Matte Black and Platinum colors with metal palm rest.

Microsoft has launched the notebook in the US, Canada, and Japan with shipping to start from April 15. There is no information regarding the global or Indian pricing and availability of the notebook.
