Samsung has launched its latest notebook in Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 in the CES 2021 online event. The notebook is launched as a successor to last year’s Galaxy Chromebook. This time, the notebook comes with a QLED display along with support for Universal Stylus Initiative (USI) pen. The laptop has retained the very popular 2 in 1 form factor from the previous generation Chromebook.

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 Specifications And Features
The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 features a 13.3-inch full-HD (1,920×1,080 pixels) QLED display. The display also comes with touch support. The notebook also supports USI Pen which will be sold separately.
In terms of processor, the notebook is powered by either Intel Celeron 5205U or a 10th-generation Intel Core i3-10110U processor. This comes along with Intel UHD Graphics and up to 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM. For storage, the Chromebook provides 64 GB and 128 GB storage options which can be further increased by making use of a microSD card. The laptop runs on Chrome OS.
The laptop has a 1-Megapixel 720p HD camera. There is also support for Trusted Platform Module (TPM for enhanced security. For ease of use, the laptop also offers a backlit, lattice keyboard. The stylus support on the notebook allows up to 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
Coming to the sound system in place, the notebook has 5W stereo speakers along with Smart AMP sound that is touted to produce audio output up to 178 percent louder than an average amplifier.
For connectivity, the laptop has two USB Type-C ports, a headphone/ microphone combo jack, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth v5.0. It runs on Google’s Chrome OS with Google Play store access.
The laptop houses a 45.5WHr battery. In terms of dimensions, the laptop measures 304.9×203.2×13.9mm and weighs 1.23 kilograms.
Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 Pricing And Availability In India
The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 has been launched carrying a price tag of $549.99 (roughly Rs. 40,300) based on the report on The Verge. There are two- Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray color options for the notebook. The pricing of the Chromebook comes as shock as the previous generation Chromebook from Samsung was launched for $999.99 (approx Rs. 73,300).
There is no information regarding the international or the launch of the notebook in India yet.
