Honor V40 5G Launched In China: Price, Specifications And Features

Honor has launched its smartphone, the Honor V40 5G in China. After several months of leaks and rumors, the phone has officially arrived. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC. The battery on the phone is just 4,200mAh but it does support 66W Fast Charging. The smartphone has a rectangular camera system on the back with the primary camera being a 50-Megapixels sensor.

The Honor V40 features a 6.72-inch full-HD+ (1,236×2,676 pixels) OLED display. The display has a 120 Hz refresh rate, a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz, HDR 10 support, and 80-degree curved edges. The aspect ratio of the smartphone is 19.5:9 and has a screen to body ratio of 91.1%. The display also supports Always-On-Display.

The device runs on the Android 11 based Magic UI 4.0 but comes without Google Play Services. The phone is powered by the Octa-Core MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC coupled with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. It also has 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage.

The Honor V40 5G has a Quad camera setup on the back. The primary camera is a 50-Megapixel camera sensor having an aperture of f/1.9. The sensor is also said to be a 1/1.56-inch large sensor. The phone also has an 8-Megapixel Ultrawide lens having an aperture of f/2.4 and a 120-degrees field of view. Then there is also a 2-Megapixel Macro camera sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. Lastly, there is also a laser autofocus sensor. The system also comes with LED flash support.

On the front, the Honor V40 5G has a dual-camera setup. The front cameras are placed on the top left of the display in a pill-shaped cutout on the display. The primary front camera is a 16-Megapixel sensor having an aperture of f/2.0. The secondary camera is a Time of Flight (ToF) lens for depth information.

The connectivity options on the phone include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, Infrared blaster, GPS, USB Type-C, and USB On-The-Go. The phone has an In-Display fingerprint reader. Other sensors onboard the device include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. The phone also has stereo speakers.

Coming to the battery, the Honor V40 5G houses a 4,000mAh Li-Po battery. It also supports 66W Fast Charging. The company also claims the phone can be charged 0 to 60% in just 15 minutes while to fully charge the smartphone will take just 35 minutes. The phone also has 50W Fast Wireless Charging supported as well. Using it, the phone can be charged to 50% in just 35 minutes. There is also support for 5W Reverse Wireless Charging.


Honor V40 5G Pricing And Availability

The Honor V40 5G has been launched in China at a starting price of CNY 3,599 (approx Rs. 40,600) for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage option. For the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage option, customers will have to spend CNY 3,999 (approx Rs. 45,100).

The phone has been launched in three color options that include Magic Night Black, Rose Gold, and Titanium Silver. The phone is on sale in China already. There is no information yet regarding the international availability of the device so far.
