Xiaomi Mi 11 With Snapdragon 888 Launched: Price, Specifications And Features

Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone in China. The phone comes as the latest flagship offering from the company. The phone has a huge 6.81-inch 2K curved AMOLED Display. The phone also includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC unveiled earlier this month. With the launch of the phone, it becomes the first device to feature the chipset. Many flagships to launch next year will feature this SoC.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Specifications And Features

The Xiaomi Mi 11 features a 6.81-inch 2K WQHD (1,440×3,200 pixels) AMOLED display. The display comes with a peak brightness of 1,500 nits, pixel density of 515 PPI, a touch sampling rate of 480 Hz, and a contrast ratio of 5000000:1.

There is also a variable refresh rate in the device which be set at highs of 120 Hz and can also go to as low as 30 Hz based on the usage. The phone’s display also offers a DCI-P3 color gamut as well as supports HDR10+ and Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation (MEMC). The device comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top of the screen, and 8,192 levels of brightness adjustment. According to reports, DisplayMate has also rated the display on this phone as A+.

The phone runs on the latest Chipset from Qualcomm, by having the Snapdragon 888 SoC under the hood. This chipset comes coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.  To run the graphics, the phone includes AdrenoTM 660 GPU. The phone also has up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Coming to the cameras, the phone has a triple rear camera setup. The primary camera is a 108-Megapixel primary sensor with a pixel size of 1.6 microns, along with an f/1.85 lens and also Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The camera sensor measures 1/1.33-inch and is said to 3.7 times bigger than the one on iPhone 12. The primary camera can also take up to 8K videos.

Other cameras on the phone’s back are a 13-Megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.4 aperture ultra-wide-angle lens that has a field-of-view (FoV) of 123 degrees. Lastly, there is a 5-Megapixel Tertiary sensor with an f/2.4 aperture Macro lens that has a focal length equivalent to 50 millimeters. The company has also developed a proprietary feature to capture low-light videos.

For connectivity, the phone has several options in the form of 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Infrared (IR), and a USB Type-C port. For audio output, the phone has stereo speakers backed by Harman Kardon audio.

The phone features an In-Display fingerprint scanner as well. An interesting about this sensor that makes it stand from the rest is that this sensor also doubles as a heart rate monitoring sensor as well. However, the sensor isn’t medically approved.

The phone houses a 4,600mAh battery to run the power-packed device. The battery also supports Mi TurboCharge 55W wired and 50W wireless charging. Apart from this, the phone also has 10W wireless reverse charging support. The Xiaomi Mi 11 has a thickness of 8.06 mm and weighs just 196 grams. The phone comes with a vegan leather version having an 8.56mm thickness and weighs 194 grams.


Xiaomi Mi 11 Pricing And Availability

The Xiaomi Mi 11 has been priced in China for CNY 3,999 (approx Rs. 45,000) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. For the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, you will have to spend CNY 4,299 (approx Rs. 48,300). While the most expensive model is the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant carrying a price tag of CNY 4,699 (approx Rs. 52,800).

In China, the phone is available for pre-order starting at 10 pm CST. While the first sale of the smartphone is planned for January 1. The phone will be made available in anti-glare (AG) frost glass finish in Horizon Blue, Frost White, and Midnight Gray color options. The device also has a vegan leather version in Lilac Purple and Honey Beige shades. In China, the phone does not come with an in-box charger. However, there is also a bundle version that will include a separate 55W GaN charger.

There is no information regarding the global launch of the device yet from Xiaomi.
