Redmi 9 Power Launched In India: Price, Specifications And Features

Redmi has launched its latest budget smartphone in India by launching the Redmi 9 Power. The phone comes with several features despite being a budget offering from the brand. The phone has a quad-camera setup on the back along with a waterdrop style notch on the front display. The phone will also be running on the Snapdragon 662 SoC under the hood.

Redmi 9 Power features a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) Dot Drop (company’s name for waterdrop-style notch) display having an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display also has 400 nits of brightness along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the screen.

The phone is powered by the Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC. In terms of GPU, the phone has Adreno 610 to handle the graphics. The phone also has 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The device also has up to 128 GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage.

In terms of optics, the phone has a quad-camera setup on the back. The primary camera is a 48-Megapixel sensor. Other cameras on the back include an 8-Megapixel Ultrawide camera sensor, a 2-Megapixel Macro camera lens, and a 2-Megapixel Depth sensor as well. On the front, the phone has an 8-Megapixel camera sensor to take selfies and attend video calls. The camera sensor also supports artificial intelligence (AI) Face Unlock.

For connectivity, the phone has 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well. The storage on the phone can be expanded to up to 512 GB using the microSD card slot.

The stereo speakers on the phone are Hi-Res Audio certified. Also, the phone has Widevine L1 certification to support HD Web streaming through platforms including Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. The smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Other sensors onboard the device includes an accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.

The phone houses a huge 6,000 mAh battery with support for 18W Fast Charging as well. It also supports reverse wired charging support and includes an Enhanced Lifespan Battery (ELB) technology. The device measures 162.3×77.3×9.6mm and weighs 198 grams.

Redmi 9 Power Pricing And Availability In India

The Redmi 9 Power has been priced in India starting at Rs. 10,999 for the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage option. There is also the 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant available for Rs. 11,999. The phone is available in four color options that are namely Blazing Blue, Electric Green, Fiery Red, and Mighty Black.

The device will be available on Amazon India and Mi.com in terms of online retailers. And in terms of offline stores, it will be available at Mi Homes, Mi Studios, and Mi Stores followed by select other partner stores as well. The first sale for the phone is scheduled for December 22 starting at 12 noon.
