Oppo has launched the Oppo Reno 5 Series with Oppo Reno 5 5G and Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G unveiled earlier today. Oppo also teased the Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ 5G which is expected to be launched in the coming days. The launched devices will feature a quad-camera setup on the back with a 90 Hz refresh rate display.
Oppo Reno 5 5G Specifications And Features
The Oppo Reno 5 5G features a 6.43-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The display also has a pixel density of 410 PPI and a screen to body ratio of 91.7%. The phone runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 on top.
The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 765G SoC and for graphics, it has Adreno 620 GPU. In terms of internal storage, the phone has up to 12GB of RAM and inbuilt non-expandable storage of 256 GB.
Coming to the camera, the phone has a quad rear camera setup. The primary sensor is a 64-Megapixel camera lens with an aperture of f/1.7. Apart from it, the phone has an 8-Megapixel Ultrawide sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, a 2-Megapixel macro shooter with an aperture of f/2.4. And lastly, a 2-Megapixel portrait shooter with f/2.4 aperture.
On the front, the phone has a hole-punch camera cutout in the top left of the display. The front camera is a 32-Megapixel sensor for taking selfies and attending video calls.
For connectivity, the phone includes dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner. Other sensors onboard include a geomagnetic sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gravity sensor, and gyroscope.
The phone houses a 4,300mAh battery with Fast Charging support. The phone supports up to 65W Fast Charging. Coming to dimensions, the phone measures 159.1×73.4×7.9mm and weighs 172 grams while the Starry Night variant weighs 180 grams.

The Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G features a 6.55-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The display also has a pixel density of 402 PPI and a screen to body ratio of 92.1%. The phone runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 on top.
The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC and for graphics, it has ARM G77 MC9 GPU. In terms of internal storage, the phone has up to 12GB of RAM and inbuilt non-expandable storage of 256 GB.
The phone has the same camera setup both front and back as the vanilla version. This model also has an in-display fingerprint scanner along with other sensors like a geomagnetic sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gravity sensor, and gyroscope.
The connectivity options also include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The phone runs on a 4,350mAh battery that supports 65W Fast Charging as well. The phone measures 159.7×73.2×7.6mm and weighs 173 grams.
Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ 5G Specifications And Features
The phone wasn’t released by Oppo during the launch and will be launched on December 24 but today just a teaser of the phone was unveiled. But there are several leaks of the specifications of the phone. These leaks suggest the phone to feature a Full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 865 SoC and also supports 65W Fast Charging.
In terms of camera, the phone is likely to have a quad rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel IMX766 primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 13-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. While the front camera is expected to be a 32-megapixel sensor.
Oppo Reno 5 Series Pricing
The Oppo Reno 5 5G has a starting price of CNY 2,699 (approx Rs. 30,400) for the 8GB + 128GB storage model while the 12GB + 256GB storage variant will cost CNY 2,999 (approx Rs. 33,700). There are three color options for the device- Aurora Blue, Moonlight Night, and Starry Night.
The Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G will be available at a starting price of CNY 3,399 (approx Rs. 38,200) for the 8GB + 128GB storage variant while the most expensive 12GB + 256GB storage option variant costs CNY 3,799 (approx Rs. 42,700).
Both the phones are already available for pre-orders in China however the shipping will start from December 18. There is no information regarding International availability yet.
