WhatsApp is said to be working on adding support for multi-device and advanced search for its upcoming update of the app. WhatsApp’s feature of using the social networking platform for desktop was very popular amongst users. But one problem that many users had with desktop support was the absence of multi-device support. WhatsApp has been working on this issue and has set to bring an update soon in order to address this issue.

As reported by WABetaInfo this feature has appeared in the latest Beta version of the app. This feature is said to be called ‘Linked Devices’. This feature will allow users to use on four devices at the same time for now.
Based on the screenshots from the Beta version, the ‘Linked Devices’ option will be available in the settings menu ( three dots at the top right of the WhatsApp home menu). Here, users will be able to see all the devices on which the user is logged into. The interface is very similar to that of the WhatsApp Web section in the app. Users can also link new devices from there itself.
Another feature that WhatsApp is working on is the ‘Advanced Search’ functionality. Currently, for searching for anything on the app there is a search bar at the top of the screen. But with the new update, there will be different categories to choose from while searching.
While searching the user can select if the searched query is for photos, videos, links, GIFs, audio, or documents and individually search for it. This makes it much easy for users to search for anything on WhatsApp. This feature is especially for those users having a lot of data on the app.
Currently, these updates are not available for users on the public beta testing yet. But it can be expected to find these soon public beta followed by for all users soon.
