On Tuesday, Honor launched its new smartphone, ‘Honor View 20’ in India. The global variant of this smartphone was launched last week.
The latest smartphone sports a Punch-Hole Display, 48MP Rear Camera, Kirin 980 SoC and much more. This is the first smartphone from the company with Punch-Hole display design.

Honor View 20: Price in India, Sale Date
- Honor View 20 price in India is Rs. 37,999 for the 6GB RAM/128GB internal storage variant and Rs. 45,999 for the 8GB RAM/256GB internal storage variant.
- The smartphone will be exclusively available for purchase via Amazon.in and HiHonor store starting at 12 AM-midnight on January 30. It will be also available at Reliance Digital stores in February. It will come in New Phantom Blue, Midnight Black, and Sapphire Blue colours.
Honor View 20: Specifications and Features
Now coming to the specifications, Honor View 20 sports a 6.4-inch LCD IPS Display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and full-HD+ (1080×2310 pixels) resolution. It has 91.82 percent screen-to-body ratio. Based on Android 9.0 Pie on the top of Magic UI 2.0, the phone runs on 2.6GHz Huawei Kirin 980 processor with Mali-G76MP10 GPU. It comes with 6GB/8GB RAM option. The smartphone has the support of Dual-SIM.
In optics, there is a dual rear camera setup, the first camera includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and the second camera includes a TOF 3D sensor. On the front, there is a 25MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The phone has LED flash on the back.
When it comes to storage, the smartphone comes with 128GB/256GB internal storage (there is no microSD card slot). Connectivity suite of the smartphone includes Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0 LE, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C. The sensors on board the handset are accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and rear-facing fingerprint sensor. Honor View 20 battery capacity is 4,000mAh with the support of 22.5W fast charging. The measures 156.9×75.4×8.1mm and weighs 180 grams.

- The smartphone sports display hole for selfie camera with just 4.5mm cut out.
- On the back, the smartphone bears a V-shaped Aurora Nanotexture pattern.
- It features GPU Turbo 2.0 technology along with liquid cooling.
- PC Mode, allowing the smartphone to be used with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
- ‘AI Video Editor’ app for video editing as well as ‘AI Shopping’ for visual search tech.
- Sony IMX586 1/2-type (8.0 mm diagonal) rear sensor uses 4-in-1 light fusion that outputs better low-light images at 12MP resolution.
- Secondary rear camera features 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to capture the depth of an image, providing several 3D and beautification applications. It also lets you play games using 3D gesture recognition by capturing body movements
- Other camera features include 960fps slow-motion video recording support, autofocus, AI HDR.
Author’s Opinion
The Honor View 20 being the company’s first featuring phone having punch-hole display selfie camera. The battery capacity is ample enough to provide a decent backup for hours. The amazing set of cameras and the display looks promising. It looks like a deserving premium smartphone that hardly shows any sign of a drawback at our first impressions.
Talking about the competition in this price range of around 37K, the real competitors of this smartphone are OnePlus 6T, Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018), LG G7 Plus ThinQ and Google Pixel 2 XL. So, the competition in this price range is decent with some really good value flagship smartphone.
If compared with the competition, the smartphone is offering the Kirin 980 SoC, 48MP Camera along with 3D TOF camera, latest 2019 punch hole trend design and other flagship level specifications.
Overall, We recommend Honor View 20 to buy in this price range. However, at the time of writing this article, our first recommendation will be OnePlus 6T (Flash Review).
