Apple MacBook Event: Key Points

Apple held an event on 27th October at it’s Cupertino HQ. This was Apple’s first onstage mention of Mac hardware since March of 2015.

Here is a summary of what’s new:

MacBook Pro: Industrial design, thinner and lighter, 13in & 15in models in 2 colours.

Force Touch: New track pad, twice the size.

Keyboard: Butterfly switch design, more stable, precise, and 40% thinner key-caps.

TouchBar: A retina display, touch screen – adapts to whatever software you’re using, browsing, quick type suggestions. Replaces Fn key and system controls. Video, music and photo editing precision and ease.

Apple TouchBar

TouchID: Can log in with your fingerprint. Located on power button for login, user switching and authorised ApplePay.

What’s inside (depending on spec): Apple T1 Chip, Intel Core i5 / i7, Dual-core 2133MHz memory, faster graphics, gaming, 3D graphics. 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports, can be used for charging, USB, video in/out.
