On Wednesday, Asus launched its new gaming smartphone, ‘Asus ROG Phone 3’ in India. The smartphone is the successor of ROG Phone 2. The key specifications of the smartphone include a 144Hz AMOLED display, Triple Rear Cameras, up to 12GB RAM, Snapdragon 865+ SoC and 6000mAh Battery.
The smartphone comes GameCool 3 heat-dissipating system with a copper 3D vapour chamber and a large graphite film. It also comes with 5 additional trigger action options for comfortable gaming – two ultrasonic air triggers (can be made four air triggers by partitions) and one motion control (to control one action by shaking the phone). There is no 3.5mm headphone jack. It comes with USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box.
The main highlights of both smartphones are 144Hz AMOLED display, 5G support and latest Snapdragon 865+ SoC. Along with the smartphone, the company also announced its accessories.
Asus ROG Phone 3: Price in India, Sale Date
- Asus ROG Phone 3 price in India is Rs. 49,999 for the 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage variant and Rs. 57,999 for the 12GB RAM/256GB internal storage variant. It will come in Black colour option.
- It will come with Aero Case and 30W fast charger in the box.
- The smartphone will be available for purchase via Flipkart starting August 6.
- The smartphone also comes in 12GB RAM/512GB internal storage variant and 16GB RAM/512GB internal storage variant priced at EUR 999 (approx. Rs. 86,200) and EUR 1099 (approx. Rs. 94,900) respectively in select markets. These both variants are not launched in India.
Asus ROG Phone 3: Specifications and Features
Now coming to the specifications, Asus ROG Phone 3 sports a 6.59-inch AMOLED Display with 144Hz refresh rate, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 10-bit HDR support and Full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) resolution. Based on Android 10 on the top of ROG UI, the phone runs on 3.1GHz octa-core 7nm Snapdragon 865+ processor with Adreno 650 GPU. It comes with 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM options. The smartphone has the support of Dual-SIM (nano+nano).
In optics, there is a triple rear camera setup, the first camera includes a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, the second camera includes a 13MP 125-degree ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture and the third camera includes a 5MP macro sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
On the front, there is a 24MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture The phone has a dual-LED flash on the back.
When it comes to storage, the smartphone comes with 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. Connectivity suite of the smartphone includes 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, Galileo(E1+E5a), QZSS(L1+L5) and USB Type-C port. The sensors onboard the handset are an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and in-display fingerprint sensor.
Asus ROG Phone 3 battery capacity is 6000mAh with support of 30W HyperCharge fast charging. The handset measures 171×78×9.85mm and weighs 240 grams.

- Ultrasonic number (shoulder buttons) with haptic feedback.
- AirTrigger 3 technology which supports sliding, swiping. Both triggers can now be divided into two partitions to make like 4 Air Triggers.
- Motion control feature to control on-screen input (like shaking the phone once while playing PUBG to reload the gun or open the map without tapping).
- Two USB Type-C port (one at the bottom and another at side). The side USB Type-C port charges the phone as well as connects the accessories.
- NTFS support for external hard disk drive.
