Nokia G42 5G, Featuring Snapdragon 480+ SoC and 5,000mAh Battery, Now Available in India

Nokia brand licensee HMD Global has unveiled the Nokia G42 5G in India on September 11, adding to its 5G smartphone lineup. This new edition of Nokia G-series is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC, 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The smartphone sports a triple rear camera system led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor and is powered by a robust 5,000mAh battery.

Notably, the Nokia G42 5G will be manufactured in India and will be available for purchase on Amazon later this week. It was initially introduced in select markets in June this year.

The Nokia G42 5G is priced competitively at Rs. 12,599 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. It is offered in two attractive colors: So Gray and So Purple. Indian consumers can buy this smartphone from September 15 exclusively on Amazon.

In Europe, the Nokia G42 5G was introduced in June with a price tag of EUR 199, approximately Rs. ₹20,800 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration.

Nokia G42 5G runs on the latest Android 13 operating system and guarantees two years of Android OS updates along with monthly security updates for an extended period of three years. Its display features a 6.56-inch HD+ screen with a 720 x 1,612-pixel resolution, which offers a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 560 nits. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The device is powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 20W wired fast charging. Nokia claims that this battery can provide up to three days of playback time on a single charge. Its dimensions are 165×8.55×75.8 mm and weight is 193.8 grams, making it a compact and lightweight option for consumers.
