Konami partner with Tencent to develop the mobile version of Contra in 2016. The game was titled Contra Returns and released in China in 2017. Konami is willing to launch the game in the North American region as well.
In July 2020, Tencent’s TiMi Studios asked the fans about releasing the game in the Western region, upon which they got positive feedback from the users. Now the company has announced to release of Contra Returns in the US. The game will bring classic, arcade-like gameplay. The game will introduce more characters.
Contra Returns is now available for pre-order on iOS and also for pre-registration on PlayStore as well. Users can pre-register for the game, and they will get special in-game rewards upon the launch of the game. The game will launch on July 26 for the North American region.
