Krafton has announced Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 which has a prize pool of Rs. 1 Crore. The prize will be split between the top 16 teams. Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 is the first esports tournament that is hosted by Krafton after the release of BGMI. Developers are working towards developing the esports ecosystem in India, with an investment of more than $30 million (estimates to Rs. 223 crores).
Scheduled Date For The Tournament
The tournament will last for three months and its registration will start from 19 July. Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 tournament will be divided into five stages, which include In-Game Qualifiers, Online Qualifiers, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Grand Finals.
The In-Game Qualifiers will start from 2 August and will end on 8 August. From 17 August, Online Qualifiers will start and will last till 12 September. After the Online Qualifiers, Quarter-Finals will take place from 16 September and will end on 26 September. Semi-Finals will then be held from 30 September to 3 October. The Grand Finals will be the last stage of the tournament, and it will start on 7 October and will end on 10 October.
Division Of The Prize Pool
Players registering for Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 will play 15 matches during the in-game qualifiers with their registered team. The top 10 matches will be evaluated, and the top 1,024 teams will be selected for the online qualifiers. In online qualifiers, 64 teams will be selected for the Quarter Finals. Out of 64 teams, 24 will be qualified for the Semi-Finals. Then 16 teams from the Semi-Finals will be selected for the grand finals.
The price pool of Rs. 1 crore will be divided between the 16 teams-
- First — Rs. 50,00,000
- Second — Rs. 25,00,000
- Third — Rs. 10,00,000
- Fourth — Rs. 3,00,000
- Fifth — Rs. 2,00,000
- Sixth — Rs. 1,50,000
- Seventh — Rs. 1,00,000
- Eighth — Rs. 90,000
- Ninth — Rs. 80,000, and so on
Apart from that, other achievements will be awarded. Rs. 1,00,000 will be given as a reward to the MVP of the tournament. Lone Ranger, Rampage Freak, and Redeemer will get the prize of Rs.50,000 each. Moreover, the squad with the most finishes will also get a prize of Rs. 50,000.
Eligibility Criteria To Participate In The Tournament
Krafton has set certain eligibility criteria which one must meet to be able to participate in the tournament. Firstly, the player must reside in India, and their account should be at a Platinum rank or higher.
If there is a tie during the in-game qualifiers, then factors like survival time, accuracy, finishes, etc will be brought into consideration to announce the winner.
